Dear Jill Stein, try getting a better voting system ( try Australia) you have a horrible winner take all, first past the post. U call it rank voting, we call it preferential voting. Without a better system 3rd parties will always be spoilers and never get to win
@soulsphere924211 күн бұрын
Preferential voting does not fix the main issue with the electoral college, which is the winner-takes-all allocation of electoral college votes/delegates that most states use. Even if a candidate wins a state by a single vote, they collect ALL college votes/delegates allocated to the state. This also means that because most states are either blue or red, most Presidental votes are simply irrelevant. Only the swing states ever matter. Smaller states are also disproportionally represented, but that is another issue again. Maine and Nebraska do not use winner-takes-all, but assign 2 statewide popular vote delegates and then one to each district. This is a better system, but still not perfect. To reform the electoral college they should look at the Australian Senate and the Single-Transferable-Vote method of electing senators. This is a proportional system that would elect delegates that much better reflect how people in each state voted. It would also ensure Gerrymandering would not be an issue.

Never vote for the big two parties! Don't let idiots that threaten consequences change your mind..... The worst possible outcome is that two-party politics and lobbying continue to exist. If a bad candidate is elected because of your votes... GOOD.... how else will the simpletons learn that the two-party system is their enemy??
@sundog514310 күн бұрын
@@EveryoneWhoUsesThisTVthe fact that you completely underestimate the extremely detrimental effect of helping DT and maga republicans get elected says it all. Your plan will backfire more than you realize. Unless you want maga to win because you are one of them, this is one of the most ridiculous arguments I've ever heard. Actions and choices have consequences. Not thinking through those consequences is a huge mistake. I understand the frustration of not wanting a two party system but electing DT is not going to get you what you want. I can't believe someone would recklessly advocate for such a horrible outcome. This stance lacks intelligence, foresight and is clearly not very well thought through. I hope people don't consider this good advice!

@OR10777BE11 күн бұрын
No, that is wrong. Whether one family or one hundred families invite a politician to attend with them for a photo opportunity, they have no authority to breach the law. This belief, whether a misunderstanding or wilful ignorance, that a person can supersede the law speaks to the basis of Donald, his family and his followers, that he (and his supporters) can supplant any institution whenever it suits them. And we should remember that when a member of the defence force is killed in their work, it is that person’s sacrifice, it is not their family’s sacrifice, sad as their loss is: The survivors made no sacrifice. For anyone, including surviving relatives and loved ones, to turn a defence force death into a political play is as cynical as it gets.

Was it all the families? Was it approved by the families of all the service personnel whose graves were clearly shown? Then no. The rules are there for a reason.

on my life i don't give a damn about this stuff. the amount of guff both majors spouted about this issue was insane. can someone in the american polity or media or electorate please say something normal like, "some worker stopped them breaking cemetery decorum and they were nobs and can we please talk about big pharma or something?" implicit in the above paragraph is the notion that you guys are doing the wrong thing in covering it. maybe not. i mean you are a topical affairs show, satirical, focusing on the inanity of american politics. perhaps it is within your brief to do this stuff. anyway, always fond of your rants
