In my U.S. government class in highschool, we learned that the electors from the electoral college are not legally required to vote for the candidate with the most votes. They do so morally and ethically. But, they can legally vote for whomever they wish. They don't teach U.S. Government class in highschool anymore.

For example, in this video as he goes along and presents information he makes very clear what he is stating the evidence shows explicitly vs what would be a biased assumption and stands by the fact that he is not making the case that that assumption is accurate.
