I feel like a lot of fans are not taking this clippers team seriously because of their past failures. It's fair in saying that Kawhi-PG first year in the bubble was a massive let down. They should have went all the way that year and I truly believe had it not been for the pandemic that season plays out much differently. Looking back at that series, the Nuggets did end up having a future back to back MVP and a Jamal Murray who was playing Ridiculous all time great basketball. I think the second year when they made the WCF and finally broke the curse the clippers had for 50+ years was a huge step for the franchise. And doing it without Kawhi Leonard is absolutely insane as they were tied 2-2 with the #1 Utah team. I think it's fair to say the Clippers could have went all the way that year No one really mentions that first round series against the Mavericks. The mental toughness it took to climb out of a 2-0 hope. And they were trailing down 25+ in the beginning of game 3 against a Luka Doncic that has playoff scoring only comparable to MJ. It's also important to mention that the One time that Mavs team didn't have to face that Clippers team they went all the way to the WCF by Luka's greatness alone I really do see this being the year the clippers can win it all. The best team. We finally have a point guard. Both Kawhi/PG are healthy. TY Lue is still one of the best coaches in the NBA ESPECIALY against the Warriors

This is the first time during the ENTIRE Kawhi era (yes, even including The Bubble) that I'm buying A TON of LA Clippers stock for them to make the NBA Finals and POSSIBLY win it. Even in 2020 I felt that a Lakers/Clippers WCF would've been a toss-up and whoever was playing better basketball at that time was going to win it. But this year, I fully expect the Clippers to not only be the top team in the West, but make it to The Finals (well, depending on how Steph and the Warriors are playing, because I foresee them to be their only true obstacle in the West)

Lob city was fun, but between chemistry, ego and health, the team collapsed. The PG and Kawhi clippers have chemistry, no egos. Health is the only real issue. The clippers never had a defensive small forward like Kawhi before. The best the sf clippers had before were Corey maggete, caron Butler Lamar Odom (whos natural position is power forward.) And the rest of them were good but not finals MVP good. The rest of the small forwards were "role player" type players that could no doubt be a starter on a contending team but couldn't run their own team by themselves. They could put up decent numbers but that's bcuz of the lack of supporting cast. The only other time that the clippers were contenders was lob city. Those early 2000s clippers were subpar. They weren't a contender, you can't put an all-star then put a mix of random players in the starting lineup and expect them to make noise. They weren't beating the best in the west, they weren't beating the Lakers, Spurs Mavs, or Suns. We can't really fault the clippers franchise when they only had 2 eras in which they were contenders this era and lob city. I forgot about the bob Mcadoo but he was on the braves before they moved to Los Angeles in 1984. But that was a different conference. And although Mcadoo was the MVP, but couldn't get his team past Boston or Washington. The clippers really started in 1984 . And unlike the Knicks who had multiple chances in different decades to contend they didn't make it happen. ( They had one ring in the 70s but couldn't capitalize in the decades afterwards.)in the The 90s they should have won a championship. But they constantly ran into mjs bulls and that's not there fault nobody was beating a prime healthy Bulls squad. But I think in 95 when they had already had made the finals 1 yr prior despite losing in 7 to Hakeem's rockets and had not spike Lee set off Reggie Miller, they might would have repeated back to the finals to avenge thier loss. The Knicks In 1999 weren't expected to make it through the playoffs let alone the finals as an eighth seed. They beat an elite 1 seeded heat team. But Ewing got injured before the finals. And depending on who you ask, might have changed the series in new York's favor. The 2010s was inexcusable, Melo was a ball hog, the eastern conference was weak, the Knicks failed to make the conference finals despite having a stacked team. The Knicks lost to an inferior pacers team with PG at the helm. They messed up linsanity, they failed to get zion, kyrie and KD in the 2019. And Dmitch this season. The owner is very cheap and will hardly give up first round picks for their team to Contend for a title. The clippers don't have that type of playoff contention success. The grizzlies didn't win anything either but they were always hanging around. Even making the WCF in 2013. But I believe that the clippers best chance outside the bubble was when they made the WCF. Had not Kawhi got injured. All the clippers needed was a true point guard just like all the raptors was a player like Kawhi and a few pieces. John wall will be the best true point guard the clippers has had since the cp3 era, what makes this good is bcuz Jwall is a better leader than Lowry. (Wall did more with less) accumulates less turnovers than cp3 if this was 2017 wall then the clippers would be champions no doubt. I feel like wall is a better scorer to the rim bcuz of his speed. And isn't nearly as bad of of a playoff choker like cp3 for instance you put wall next to harden in 2019 or put wall on the sun's this yr, he would have gotten them past the Mavs, his speed would have collapsed the defense and him getting to the rim would have been a problem. At this point he's a better passer than cp3 of course prime cp3 is the better passer and but as of now wall is the better effective passer, cuz cp3 is old. Bottom line: Clippers in 4
