Chris, I know it's 2001 A Space Odyssey's 50th anniversary, but it's also Planet of the Apes 50th as well. They came out a month apart from each other! Please do a Planet of the Apes (1968) for a pre-70s review! It was a legendary film that deserves a review by you.

DysnomiaFilms Yup they are 2001 is a bit overrated(my personal opinion) it is an extremely cold film and I personally can't connect with it. I mean yeah it explored different themes and it was fascinating to watch but it wasn't enough for me and Kubrick has made better films Barry Lyndon is his best in my opinion.

The concept actually has a lot of potential. The Black Mirror episode “Crocodile” explores how far someone will go to keep a secret. With good writing, actors, and directing this film could have been the next Saw. That way there’s no stupid writing in of rules, because the characters would willingly cut out their tongue rather than reveal their crimes or trauma. There would be a lot to do with human psychology. Giving characters reasons to choose dares over truth could lead to clever characterization and choosing to provide the characters with actual histories would allow for investment in the characters and powerful moments when truths are revealed either by will or by force.
@beneales6 жыл бұрын
Joshua von Werder I feel like that idea was sort of delivered in a film called Would You Rather. People had to make messed up choices so they could get money for their cause, and doing nothing meant death. The movie isn’t a masterpiece, but there’s a surprising amount of character development and even some shocks along the way. Another game based off of a teen drinking game, only it’s actually good.
