content quality - awesome as usual video quality - I personally dont care that its of a lower quality sound quality - very, very bad. sometimes it is hard to understand people from all around the world in your videos because of different accents and level of english language, but here I didnt understand them because of poor sound. Yes, subtitles help, but I usually just have the video as a background noise and check the screen only between discussions

I think a lot of pple around the world confuses Italian American culture with Italian culture from Italy. Italian americans are some of the most prosperous groups in the US and one of the few white ethnicities that managed to latch on some of their culture. Italian americans modified Italian food to make it more palatable to Americans which turned out to be totally delicious and quickly spread to the rest of the world. People are shocked to find out while vacationing in Italy that the food is very different. Much less cheese and butter.

@13Drew884 жыл бұрын
@@sparkle9964 not even that! It's pretty clear that you both have never been in Italy and you talk without knowing and with stereotypes. You have to know there is a distinct social difference between northen and southern Italy. People from the north are definitely more quite, discreet, and polite, they don't think all day about food and don't spend all the energy and time on making food, they are more focused on work, they don't gather with a lot of other friends to eat all together on a daily basis but only on special events, they are definitely not "hot people", they are quite, respectful, sober, have manners, have a smooth accent so they are more "europeans" like austrians, germans, dutchmen, whereas souhern italian people are more compliants to your stereotype of italians you have: they are more outgoing, social, talk loud, make a lot of hand gestures, think and spend more time on making food and inviting friends, more stuck to the traditions, ecc... but even then they are still italians and not similar to other cultures like arabics, come on!. You can tell instead that they are more like spaniards or geeks, that would make more sense. So, Italy is the most diverse Country in the world, you can never tell how an italian may look like, think like and act like, it basically depends on where he comes from!

The world owes Italy eternal gratitude. The best architects, painters, sculptors, and engineers are all from Italy. They have created things that no other nation on the planet can rival and never will - because they lack the kind of imagination that runs through Italian blood. You know what's actually quite hard when your speak with your hands ? Performing theatre. As the only Italian in my theatre group, I didn't feel like I was using my hands at all when saying my lines. But when I saw the recording of the play, I was appalled to see as much I moved my hands without purpose 🙄

5:00 In Egypt when you do that with the hands it means "wait" or "slow down". And if you do it while touching your chin it means "you'll see" like "I'll show you" or "I'll get my revenge some day". 5:10 That gesture with arms in Egypt would mean "whatever" or "forget it", or "that was something from the past". 5:23 With rolling your arms/hands like that it means "go on" or "continue", or "get to the conclusion, I'm in a hurry". I guess we also speak with our hands, but the gestures have different meanings.

lol I was recently talking with a British colleague of mine and I wanted to share the fact that I rarely can resist in front of good food. I couldn't find the english word for that ("goloso", in Italian), since "greedy" has quite a different hint. This guy looked at me and just said "I guess we don't really have such a huge vocabulary for food! You know, you guys really talk a lot about it!" It's an episode that made me smile so sincerely, you know. Such different cultures coming out from such small details.

ciao a tutti!🥰 i am an italian girl from Roma🇮🇹 and i think it would be interesting to analyze also the young italian generation… the gen Z (i’m 20) because it’s very different from the old generations, as in the rest of the world. The *1* ‘stereotype’ is true i would say, for both of the generations. We are *passionate and loud, very flamboyant* 😜. The *2* stereotype, it’s true for the older generation maybe (i’m not sure) but not for the young one… the gen Z of italy is cosmopolitan, more open minded and influenced by the media so people like to travel and to do new things, this means that people like their independence more and boys are less attached to their parents. The *3* stereotype it’s absolutely true, we are obsessed with good food and good coffee, everything in Italia has to be top quality and fresh! Especially food and beverages. Funny thing is that coffee comes from South America yet in Italy we are masters of coffee ☕️ we have so many specialties of coffee! But remember dear foreigners, italian food isn’t what you think it is… we have a lot of different ingredients and recipes for each region of the country, it’s not just pizza and pasta😉 The *4* stereotype another truth! We talk with our hands a lot because we are *expressive*, we want people to look at us and pay attention at us … we are very theatrical when we speak and our language is really musical. The *5* stereotype is also true… we really tend to put an effort in how we look and how we dress even in small occasions, and also a lot of famous fashion brands worldwide are ours so 😝 flexing The *6* stereotype is true… for both of the generations … adult and young. We are very romantic people💐 maybe italian men/boys can be too much sometimes, especially in southern italy… The last stereotype… mmh… i want the world to know that Italia loves you all ❤️ let it be peace!

I have a friend who's a quarter Italian by blood, he was raised in Italy for several years before moving back to the States, and when we use to talk about his heritage (I'm a curious individual so I ask questions) he would jokingly answer a question or two with an exaggerated the stereotypical Italian accent (kind of like Stewie on family guy) to try and make me laugh lol. He also has a nickname that's actually just the initials of his name lol

"Italians are very bad at speaking in English". 100% True An italian
@elioamedeo Жыл бұрын
I'm Italian and I have been living in England for a few years, finally making my dream come true. Regardless of whether these stereotypes are true or false, I do think Italians should mind the way they present themselves to the world, especially since foreigners tend to take what they say at face value and simplify things. In my line of work I've seen countless times Italians say and do things in front of foreigners they wouldn't normally say or do. We have created this aura of friendliness (that I don't personally believe to be true, since people in Caserta and the surrounding villages tend to mind their own business, and when I go to other parts of Italy strangers do not approach me to be friends, waiters do their job and bus drivers don't even look at me) that whilst being a nice thing, I'm sorry to say is abused by most people outside of Italy. People assume they can be expansive with me, ask me personal questions, voice opinions on what I'm supposed to like or dislike, and they have certain expectations about my personality, my accent and my values. It gets even worse with people coming from countries that are perceived as similar to Italy, like France, Portugal or Spain, they expect me to understand what's in their mind and share their values (which is fine when it's someone likeable, but sometimes you have to back some really asinine opinions). In general my nationality is treated as something entertaining. After some time it starts becoming a bit much, it makes me feel like Mickey Mouse at Disneyland, especially since they don't really do it with people coming from other european countries or other parts of the world. To my fellow Italians: we come from a complex 2000+ year old country, with a rich history of politics, scientific innovation, war, expansion, loss, injustice, cultural and artistic revolution, complex language development, full of people from every walk of life. Let's be careful in the way we present it and in what we confirm or deny.

All around the other european countries people know that Italians, Spanish, Portuguese and Greeks are talktive, social, loud, expresive, dramatic, sentimental and love to touch, they can't live without hugs, kissing. The concept of personal space is somehow a strange notion for them.😂 For Romanian people is easy to spot in a crowd the mediteranean people because they stand out always. All of them have big smiles, clean and olive ton skin is comun, expresive and beautiful eyes, their hands move alot.😂😁😀

The first one is true about being loud. I'm so loud at that my own family tells me to lower it down. I don't even realize that I'm doing it either. I grew up where everyone talked like they were yelling and I think it has permanently damaged my ears. My mother, the other day, was trying to whisper something to me and I could not understand a word she was saying. I told her to speak up and finally when she got to what I assume is a normal inside voice was I able to hear what she said.
