I Love this set of progressions. I tried most of it at the gym today and I can do as far as the headstand, though I didn't get fully up yet. How does she keep the tension on the straps? One fell off my foot and I sort of lost concentration. Very nearly up to the full headstand though! Can't wait to progress to the handstand version!
@COREStrongFitness6 жыл бұрын
Advancing Fitness first off thanks for checking out this video! Secondly the foot tension is a matter of dorsiflexuon to plantar flexsion or pulling your toes towards your nose then pointing your toes. So when your in the plank dorsiflex your feet. Then as you start to come up you have to plantar flex your feet. Hope this helps! Thanks for reaching out! Let me know how it goes and keep practicing!

Currently I’m riding a bicycle around Australia and will be traveling for the next several years. I have only just bought a TRX and tried the arm and handstands under a tree today and I can do it as far as the headstand, though I didn't get fully up yet. How often do you suggest I should work at this per day? 1 hour? 2 hours? ?? I am 54 years old and am quite fit. My main aim is eventually to do the handstand with five push-ups...😳 So the question is, how often do you recommend I train at it per day? Obviously I will work slowly and very carefully towards your answer. Greetings from Australia 🌈🚴🏼♂️🙂

Wow how cool!! Thanks for reaching out! I think the main thing to focus on daily is trying to get the hips over the head from the pike and try to hold that for 10-15 seconds. Work on pushing your hands into the ground and shoulders out of your ears to gain a stronger shoulder position. I would suggest that you would work no more than an hour per day on this specific movement. Keep practicing and it will click together soon! Good luck and keep me posted! 🙌🏻

Awesome vid! So how long do you think the progression would be to the handstand? Say if i did this 3x a week? Thanks!
@COREStrongFitness7 жыл бұрын
James Kent thanks! If you were to dedicate 3 times a week at practices this you could get it in as little as 2-3 weeks depending on the strength and mobility of your shoulders. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

Okay, time for a dumb question. Where can I get a cool pair of shoes like you and Stephanie wear during your videos? I am really getting into TRX but trying to find a non-slip, very light shoe where I live is almost impossible. I've noticed regular cross-trainers just slip all over my rubber floor matting.
@COREStrongFitness4 жыл бұрын
brian rutherford No that’s not a dumb question at all! We are wearing Vibram Fivefingrers. Issues work great for getting your key in and out of the straps as well as helping your balance while doing certain moves. I highly recommend that you check them out! Also another one of my favorite shoes to wear while working out are Lems Shoes. 👍🏻 And thanks for checking out our videos!🙌🏻

I don't like the idea of using bent arms and my head to achieve a inverted vertical position. Anyways, I already have the strength, what I lack is the coordination, balance and confidence.

Thanks Eric for checkout out the video. With practice you’ll gain the confidence. Try using a spotter to help you out for a couple tries until you feel more confident. 💪🏻

Why do you say don’t do a headstand it can hurt you, then immediately have her do it ? Also, pls listen to your vid..... blah blah blah blah. 80 % of your words unnecessary, it’s tiresome. way too wordy. Especially first minute totally waste of time

Thanks for watching, sorry this video is below your expectations. Feel free to not continue to watch the entire video or any of my other videos because I choose to explain things in detail because I care about how people do things and keeping them from getting injured, not just showing some fancy exercises. Also if it’s doesn’t please you, you have the choice to stop watching a video and move on, not leave a personal jab on my style. Please feel free to post your video response on how much better you would be at coaching this. 👍🏻

Thank you Brian for the thoughtful video. I appreciate the effort you both put I to making it. One quick question- I have a TRX band but because I travel all the time I hang it over the door. I can’t put it in the ceiling because I rent my apartment and I don’t want to leave a hole/scar like that. Do these exercises differ at all for someone who’s trying to use them from the door. I’m having trouble finding space in between where my feet are and the door, and the angle that hanging the TRX from the door creates. If you have any thoughts about that or can do another video for someone who has to use the door versus the ceiling. Also could you put the seven progressions in your notes?I tried to write them down as best I could but I don’t want to miss anything. Thank you both very much for your contribution towards my handstands with the TRX

Actually, I appreciate the “wordiness” of his explanations. Safety first in all training and this can be particular tricky and hazardous if done wrong. Just take a breath and listen. Four minutes out if your life won’t hurt and, in fact, could save you a lot of grief if you didn’t have the pearls he’s sharing.
