Anxiety can range from feelings of butterflies in your stomach or chest to more severe and debilitating fight or flight feelings. It can result in not being able to follow through on your plans, or even leave your house. It’s often linked to a food sensitivity or allergy, nutrient deficiency, or can even be tied to genetics. Dr. Todd LePine talks about ways to treat anxiety by healing the gut, changing your diet, and implementing exercise and mindfulness practices.
Also, Dr. George Papanicolaou discusses why it’s important to find the root cause of anxiety.
Dr. Todd LePine graduated from Dartmouth Medical School and is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, specializing in Integrative Functional Medicine. He is an Institute for Functional Medicine Certified Practitioner. Prior to joining The UltraWellness Center, he worked as a physician at Canyon Ranch in Lenox, MA, for 10 years. Dr. LePine’s focus at The UltraWellness Center is to help his patients achieve optimal health and vitality by restoring the natural balance to both the mind and the body. His areas of interest include optimal aging, bio-detoxification, functional gastrointestinal health, systemic inflammation, autoimmune disorders, and the neurobiology of mood and cognitive disorders. Dr. LePine enjoys skiing, kayaking, hiking, camping, and golfing in the beautiful Berkshires, and is a fitness enthusiast.
Dr. George Papanicolaou is a graduate of the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine and is Board Certified in Family Medicine from Abington Memorial Hospital. He is also an Institute for Functional Medicine Practitioner. Upon graduation from his residency he joined the Indian Health Service. He worked on the Navajo reservation for 4 years at the Chinle Comprehensive Medical Facility where he served as the Outpatient Department Coordinator. In 2000, he founded Cornerstone Family Practice in Rowley, MA. He practiced with a philosophy centered on personal relationships and treating the whole person, not just not the disease. He called that philosophy “Whole Life Wellness”. Over time as the healthcare system made it harder for patients to receive this kind of personal care Dr. Papanicolaou decided a change was needed. He began training in Functional Medicine through the Institute of Functional Medicine. In 2015, he established Cornerstone Personal Health - a practice dedicated entirely to Functional Medicine. Dr. Papanicolaou joined The UltraWellness Center in 2017.

I learned so much from this talk that relates to many of my own health struggles over the years. I have stopped going to allopathic doctors because I refuse to take the toxic chemicals they’re so quick to prescribe. I have made a lot of nutritional and lifestyle changes on my own through educating myself, but I can do more. What this video demonstrates is the art and science of functional medicine and truly working with a person’s individual body and biology and paying close attention to the details to figure out root causes of illness instead of pumping patients full of ineffective drugs. This is true medicine! I’m a nurse who has given up on traditional medicine because they’re too shortsighted. I just wish functional medicine was mainstream but it’s certainly becoming more visible and more available, and videos like this really help to give it the attention it deserves! Thank you!!

I have a question: Why do people of Germanic or African descent often die of heart attack or sudden kidney failure, as well as vitiligo and psoriasis, most cases of people of Germanic origin, as well as cases of genetic paralysis?

Nobody dies from Vitiligo. They may have other auto-immune diseases that they are more susceptible to that could cause higher risk. They may also be at higher risk of skin cancers.

Hey Doctor? I’ve been having bubbly urine for a year now but no protein in the urine at all. Every test is normal except one test that said Staphylococcus Capitis but then after retaking without antibiotics it wasn’t found. What Should I Do?

@@michaelsrowland This is untrue. Dr. LePine is highly intelligent and is trying to explain how various body processes work and what you can do about it in natural ways.

I have not seen any ads in Dr. LePine’s talks. They are long because very few people know the information he is giving us. He presents and comes across very well and is a very good person 😌 to provide such a deep understanding of medical issues looking at them from a different perspective that makes way more sense than traditional medicine.

Some feedback for dr hyman: u’re always interrupting ur guests too much. It’s quite frustrating to listen and watch. And u often insert jokes when ur guests are talking, thus cutting them off. It’s in most of ur videos it’s frustrating. Thank you.

I think there are two purposes of the long video: To introduce to us two physicians available to us through the Ultrawellness Center; to drive home the point that if we trash our diet, sleep, and exercise we will probably suffer greatly in many ways.

@@student1621 thanks.... i greatly appreciate mark hyman but i wish he would get over the hour long PLUS videos and do some short snippets...... who has an hour and a half to listen to a ton of videos ? there is a lot of info out there, don't waste the time of those who are looking for solutions..... and they need professional help too ... resources would be helpful.... been there done that and i would like to see his videos actually address the help that so many people need.
