I used to have those markers. Plus blow-paint pens. Which were little stick like figures in which you put diluted paint and blew to make paint flow out of another end. Kind of like acrylic spray paint

I grew up in the 90's and I had the magic pens and the smelly gel pens. Also had Spirograph, the books that turned intoa 360 degree paper doll house, a crayola craft box that opened out so you could store paper into the tray beneath... I miss my childhood :(

We had those magic pens, too! They were AWESOME! We didn't have the blow-pen part of it, but we had the markers. LOVED it! We also had stamp markers with the smiley faces, hearts, and paw prints. Those were pretty popular back in the 90's too. My favourite art thing back then were actually the Rose Art kits. Sure, they weren't good quality in relation to a lot of other things, but when you're a 7-year-old who spends all her time drawing and crafting, it doesn't matter to you much. My favourite was a big plastic case that folded open and closed like a book. It had markers, pencil crayons, crayons, pastels, and some other things inside. I LOVED that thing. I could keep everything organized, and it gave me a variety to choose from. Wish I could find that thing again! :)

You know what art supplies I remember seeing all over the place as a kid in the 90s and early 2000s, those rainbow scratcher things. The ones that were all black and you used a stick to scratch your picture into it and it was rainbow underneath. Also, ALL the fuzzy felt Rose Art posters/pictures. I even remember they even made folders out of them.

In Germany water pens were a big deal. You had to open a thick pen and fill it with water. Then you closed it and blow in the end, so the color splashed out of a little opening at the front of the pen. That was so fun 😅 And of course everybody was creating tons of window color pictures. Every window had multiple pieces of them and the ones who were really cool also stuck them to the tiles in the bathroom 🙃

The Alex Art Tracer!!! That one was the only one my parents ordered for us from tv! It was a weird contraption to let you trace things (including 3d things around the house as well) and it was cool but spo easy to lose your place and I kind of remember getting headaches from it?

I remember wanting that rainbow painting kit so bad and my parents never got me it 😞 but I remember getting this kit that was like those beads you iron together to create pictures with but instead you would spray it with water and it would stick together. Don’t ever remember it working either that or it was too sticky. I also had many packets of the manic pens loved them so much!!

I had some version of the Magic Pens! But the sample drawing they used was taking two markers, colouring alternating stripes, and then using the "magic" marker on that, so it was super EXTRA magical and kind of dizzying.

Fun video! I think my mom bought me both of those things. I don’t know what brand of gel pen you are talking about but I know they still make variations of them. Mr. Scent stuff is still around with their markers. I’ve seen a pack of scented gel pens by the registers at Hobby Lobby in the states. Target sells ‘Sugar Rush’ gel pens that are scented. My favorite was the Rainbow art. I remember painting canvases with that thing. They turned out okay. 😆
