Finnish kids didn't used to need to pretend to smoke with random candy sticks, we used to use skipper's pipes, licorice shaped like a pipe, and be classy about our fake smoking.

I think those choco cigarettes werent actually allowed to be sold and some places sold them under the counter or so... Remember them being sold pretty much only in special places like Hakaniemen kauppahalli.

Snack Fries have been since forever, i remember when we were kid's at a friends party we used to be gross and drink cola using the chip as a straw! :'D

I wish Taffel still did sell the Furious chips :(. If someone doesnt know, those were Sourcream, Chili, Jalapeno and Cheese chips. Havent seen them for years and would love them back

Snack fries must have dip with them. So easy to dip. As a kid I used snack fries as a straw and sucked dip through it. Not too much, just so that the dip would stay INSIDE the fry. And THEN I ate the fry. I had a damn eating etique for the darn thing

Try "Oikia" -chips or "Oikia" perunalastu! Best ever!!! I tasted them on my holiday to Lapland last summer and haven't tasted better before or since! The flavour I tasted was "Sähäkkä Sabina"... Every single crisp in that bag tasted so wonderful...

I've tried all oikia brands I've seen at the store and I like them all a lot and checked the comments if anyone thought the same. I guess if you like hot chips you could be disappointed but for me they are the best.

Snack Fries and Hot Rods are both made from the same paste/dough/mixture. I think that is the thing that make those both unappealing to you - The texture that dissolves in your mouth and does not give you too much taste.

It's very rare when these kinda products have any spice in Finland. One time Hesburger was having adds about a seasonal burger that it's spicy and for above 16 year olds as a recomendation and honestly it wasn't spicy at all and I tought this time it actually would be (even a bit) since they didn't recommend it for kids. They basically just slapped couple green halapenos there and some ultra low grade spicy sauce and called it a day.

A bit of out of the box considering all the potato & spices, but next time you visit S-market, pick a bag of Rainbow (yeah, of all the brands) peanut flips. Those tend to cause addiction.

My favourite crisps are "Fiini lady Clare" salt and vinegar flavoured crisps or "Sähäkkä Sabina" green chili flavoured crisps from Real snacks (Oikia). The crisp texture, snap and thickness are just right, not to mention that the flavouring dust is very evenly distributed on the crisps.

Don't remember if you tried these yet but Taffel Flavor Max Wasabi Balls. You like spicy stuff and you'll probably love these!

I once tried those Hearts chips but they were apple pie flavour. I was the only one who liked them so I got to eat the whole bag. My friend said it was weird to bite into a chip and get a sweet flavour. I think it was a seasonal item so I'm not sure if you can get them anymore. Furthermore, I'm guessing not enough people liked them so they might not be making them anymore.

Snack fires are great for dipping! Not too "spoony", so they wont carry too much dip on them.

In my opinion you can never go wrong with the 3 finnsih originals, taffel plain/taffel sour cream & onion/taffel rilli, with a garlic dip

The Fire Balls aren't new, what I can remember I bought those back in 2007 the first time 🤔 But in my opinion those where spicier back then... I don't know if they have changed their recipe since that, or if I just have got used to the flavour, but of your choice of Chips, those are my favorite 👍 If you like spicy, have you tried Felix Hellfire Ketchup, thats so good 🤗🤗

How about if you test these Oikia brand's chips? There's normal potato chips, but also a oat chips. I think that one time you did taste those Moomin corn chips from them. Also this Kartanon serie from Taffel is super good, more tasty than normal Taffel chips.

Oh that's what they do to leftover french fries in burger places... they just sell them to taffel who spice, dry and bag them. Yummy.

Have you tasted the "normal" version of the nacho cheese balls? I strongly prefer them over the fire balls.

I remember the fire balls heat being slightly too stingy / tingling and not very pleasant or flavorful. I mean all such chili products usually just come with the the heat of the chili and no flavor at all... The cheap chili in general has no flavor at all compared to "proper" chili.

Hey, it's allright. Am Finnish, and I dislike hot rods aswell XD tho I dislike smoky paprika and MANY bbq flavors too. Broadway sourcream and onion has been my favourite for years. Nothing has beaten it untill today.

When i want cheesy chips in finland i go for the hearst, they are the best sold in finland. But the ultimate best cheese flavoured chips are swedish olw cheese doodles! Sooo cheesy and tasty, whenever i have to eat the taffel juustonaksu i just get mad since they taste so bland.

Fireballs are one of my favorites, I don't like too spicy food but these ones are perfect. San Diegos are good too, as well as Hearts. I'd enjoy your selection this time :)

I prefer mild flavors. Spices dull the sense of taste if used too much. You end up wanting more and more spices because you cant taste mild flavors anymore. Then you loose the taste of the actual food. Spices are meant for complimenting the food, not to over power and cover the taste. So, I prefer the snack fries, and if I want more spicy then hot rod. I find the nacho hearts disgusting. Havent tasted the rest of these. Also I like the taffel cheese snacks and most of the only salt falvored. It is good that there are many flavors, everyone can find the ones they like.

When I was a kid there used to be actually candy pipes (they stated actually quite long time into my adulthood, it was a classic candy always existed) and I think I have heard about actual candy cigarettes back in the day 😂 Getting the pipe candy out because of controversy was a bit silly since if anything it was somekinda posh gentleman or Holmes play with them when kids. I don't think it puts kids into smoking, actual candy tobacco is much differend. Also you can smoke with a pipe other things than tobacco.. like crack.

my favourites are the tortilla cheese chips by pirkka, i've never came across any better chips. they're very flavourful and good that i think i'm gonna go to store to buy some like right now : D also if you want to taste more weird flavours i'd suggest the heart chips but apple pie version. never tried them but they sound interesting.

In Hungary you could actually get cigarette shaped chewing gum for kids. Now, I really don't know if that encourages smoking or not, but we definitely felt cool af 😂😂😂 (I personally don't smoke btw)

Hot Rods even if its an classic Taffel it has never been my favourite, its just so boring taste. You should prob need to reset your tasting reseptors btw the products just with having a sip of water, to prevent having everything tasting the same 😎
