I hate when they call it “ Indian Donuts” for Medu Vada here in America. Because then Americans suddenly starts thinking about donuts and expects it to be sweet. Medu vada is NOT sweet, it’s a South Indian fritter made with black lentils, spices, and curry leaves. It’s crispy on outside and spongy inside dipped with chutney or sambhar.
