My mom always told me that elegance is about being confident in who you are. She is the most elegant woman I know and definitely not in a traditional way, but anyone who knows her would agree with me.

Yes... when I was younger, I was very masculine. As I get older, I realised like you did too, that it was to hide my true self which is much more feminine, that I feel vulnerable about. Eventually, due to problems in my romantic relationships, it drove me to really explore and uncover my true feminine self. I've been exploring for a few years, but since I started following Anna, I had much more guidance to do that and it helped me go even further...

Weird little story here, but my skin recently became very sensitive to the sun (issues with my immune system) and with the warmer weather I found myself not being able to wear my usual shorts and tank tops anymore, so I started to pick long sleeved white blouses, pretty hats, big sunglasses etc to cover myself. People stop and stare, strangers compliment me and hold doors open for me... it's crazy. Even if I'm getting healthy again, I will probably keep dressing like this, it makes me feel like a celebrity :D Everything you teach about elegance is really true. Greetings and much love!

When I was diagnosed with lupus in 1998 and could no go in the sun unprotected by covering i went on a very very long style journey. My mother-in-law told me to wear big brimmed hats with scarves, sunglasses 😎 lol I started noticing that people were staring and whispering and actually asking me if i was a model or actress. Flash forward to 2020 I am known for my stylish hat collections by all of the people who know and love me! 😁making the best of a difficult situation lol 😂 I just realized that I used my hubby’s acct!!! He’s not wearing the hats, scarves and sunglasses 😎 I am.

I truly think many men also don't have mentors or know how to treat women the proper way. They are not intentional about their lack of chivalry, and manners. They just don't know any better. Like many women, mainstream and pop culture is their reference. I think a video for them on how to treat a lady would super helpful to forward to all our awkward, nerdy, unrefined, and insecure male friends in our lives who I know are hungry for help. The video on why men should always pay is one of my favorites for them. Since explaining this concept that has always been implemented in my personal life, not a single one contested to it. Much love to you beautiful Anna!

You're so right. I think a lot comes from the upbringing and role models we have when growing up. Very sad, because in America itself more than 22 million children across the country under the age of 18 are being raised without a dad at home. There's just that much a busy single mum can do. I've worked with some guys helping them to learn how to be a gentleman and how to treat a lady. But they're the willing ones..

Hi Anna how lovely to see you are back. Let me tell you a story ( hope I wont bore you) my father passed away in 2005 he was my best friend and a very wise man a true gentleman. We have a farm and when I was alittle girl there was a lady that owned a farm about 10 miles away she lived alone and was very wealthy but didnt take care of herself she had rough big hands and dont think she had ever heard of a dentist !!!!!!. When she would go to markets men would talk to her like she was one of them !"never helping her to lift a heavy box or holding the door for her. When my darling father passed away she came to see me to offer her condolences. One thing stuck in my mind until this day. She said your dad was a true gentleman and the only man that ever made me feel like a lady. I ask her what did she mean. She said he was the only man that treated me like a lady the only man that did not use bad language in front of her and even held a door for her. I was and am very proud of my father until this day. That is why my sister and myself and my beatiful daughter are stylish elegant ladies today. Being elegant is not being a snub no no being elegant is making others feel good about themselves elegance radiates from a true lady. It's as easy as breathing . Takecare Anna n all.😇

For me how to be an elegant and classy lady comes from my mom, she always had a good taste how a lady should be dressed up, look like and behave. She is a bit more conservative than me, but she is my idol and my very first teacher. In my opinion a true elegant lady is a high value woman, who knows her worth, who treats everyone with kindness, which is feminine and soft, but at the same time have a strong personality to resist unfairness.

Please never compare yourself with anyone else, everyone's journey is different with different destinations so there is no general timeline. The next part of my comment you will not like, but I hope it will help you: we usually attract what it is in us (law of attraction), so if, for example, you attract only lazy man, think about how you treat yourself: are you too lazy to work out on most days and eat healthy and you preffer take out? This is just an example. If you want a real man, focus on being a real woman first, by taking care of yourself, having dreams and aspirations and working towards them and trust me when are fully busy with living and enjoying you life, a great man will appear out of nowhere, it has always worked like this for me.

Hi, Anna, A bit or constructive criticism, if I may? I don't know if you have a new video editor, but things look different... I feel like there are too many quick "close-ups" and "zoom outs" all throughout the video, happening all too frequently. It makes it a little difficult to watch. I realize that it's done to emphasize certain things said or certain phrases, and generally it's a great technique for editing and really works well, but in this case it's just happening all throughout the video and at times too much and too "choppy" . The sound and lighting are still great, and it's very nice to listen to the video, but when you try to watch it this becomes very distracting. A certain smoothness and easy flow of your older videos is gone. 🤷 P. S. You look great. ♥️

Thank you Ana, as an Italian my family is quiet close to me.. but I am embarrassed by them I have to say, when I think to be part of a high society. They have a construction company since two generations and I never take part of that because I couldn’t stands the grossness of the people I should have been surrounded for the rest of my life. I rebelled than many years ago, I studied philosophy, left home at 21 and started my journey. Next step is traveling more (corona permitting). At times I am insecure about putting effort in finding a companion of that level because of introducing the simplicity and roughness of my family behaviour and thinking. I feel as i may have no support from my side when relating to a well educated man probably coming from a family of culture that benefits of a such a support. My family is hard work for me. They are laud, talk non sense at times and unrefined. Sorry to be so direct, but these are my insecurities and I thought to share them. I never express openly this issue of embarrassment, but in this video you nailed it and I was thankful to heard that, that this things exist and I am no the only one and there may be acceptance, regardless ones background.

It would help a lot of young girls because the youth is very into clubs because it’s a form of fun and us, young girls, often asked ouerselves how we can dress for the club, but also elegant at the same time.

Hi , actually I wear classic clothes , I have several blazers , one cashmere coat which is winter white , I only wear loafers or court shoes with a heel, or ballet shoes , yes I wear jeans or classic trousers , but for me I wear white tee shirts under my blazers and jeans. But normally I have a chin level bob hairstyle , a little different being in lockdown., but every thing I wear is classic but I wear scarf and gloves ! But I am getting very mature but I have dressed this way for well over ten years. But I enjoy my clothes , my jewellery is delicate even my pearls ,

I think you nailed it Anna: Being "elegant" is not about others, it's all about yourself and also how you behave towards others. I liked very much that you pointed out that it's not necessary to display yourself to show your sexuality, which doesn't mean you are some kind of a"saintly" person. And finally, when I think about elegance somehow Audrey Hepburn comes to mind. Confident and understated.

I am American and dated a Bulgarian guy who said it was normal for he and his girl/guy friends to openly talk about sex and their sex lives. I thought this was strange and viewed this as personal and private. Just the thought of his friends knowing that much detail about me felt violating. It seems nosy, because I did not share that same interest to know about their sex lives. Of course I told him I wasn't comfortable with that. I wonder if this is a sign of lacking elegance. If my friends and i talk about sex, it is about our interests, not about our relationships. We talk about private matters if we are seeking advice. Love your videos. Would love more vids of you going into stores and looking for elegant clothing and shoes! :)

@Amerizuelan Same in our culture (German) - one night stands to brag about or just for advice, but other than that you don't talk about it and it would be rude and disrespectful to your partner to do so.

Depends on the Bulgarian really. It was a thing for the older generations (like people in their thirties) but it is dying out. I personally feel the same way, I strongly dislike it and so do my friends, so I feel like (and hope) that this trend is going to disappear.

So well said, Anna. Thank you for this video and for your channel - I think you are doing women an excellent service with your insight. When I was in my late teens and early twenties I was very insecure and did not think I was attractive so I thought I had to dress very scantily to attract attention. Unfortunately for me, it took me many years to see that what I was attracting was not what at all what I wanted. I am now secure in myself and feel beautiful and confident and without any need to dress/behave like that anymore. In fact, I feel more attractive than ever. Listen up ladies, she knows what she is talking about.

Elegance begins with knowing who you are, what your values are, what you are aiming for and why. Elegance is working on yourself! Elegance goes hand in hand with intellectualism. Knowing the arts and actually having a character. It is about discovering yourself and respecting yourself and others. Personal boundaries are important, guidance and stability are important. The looks come in the process and afterwards. If none of the work is done - one turns into a snob.

Thank you for not being preachy. Everyone is at a different point on their journey toward becoming more elegant. I have watched some youtube channels where the women are talking about a type of femininity that is reminiscent of the 1940s or 50s and is very old fashioned. This may be fine for them, but I know that I'll always have to work and I just love your idea about adopting certain forms of elegance and build from there! Most women have a million and one things to do and it's good to be reminded that we don't have to have it all done by tomorrow!!!!!!

Elegance definitely stems from who you are inside. Polish that first and the rest will follow. It's not about stiffness or elitism or arrogance or perfection. It's about what you feed your mind and soul. What are you watching? What are you reading? How are you treating yourself? What are you learning or teaching yourself? Plus, I also think it's a work in progress. We change. We learn. We add layers through experiences. I'm definitely not who I was in my 20's . And I think that's natural.

This has been my favourite video so far on this channel - some people just cannot sense the subtleties in these "tips for being classy" videos and think that "oh my god, if I have a cardboard tissue box out, I'm trashy". I also like the thought of elegance being more of a mindset, and making 1-2 mistakes or not following a certain type of elegance does not make a person not elegant. What I see in my surroundings, the things I would add to the common misconceptions: - especially about elegance in affluent circles, where the man might be the breadwinner provides for the woman: that elegance is about holding "values" from the past, being traditional... which in some ways is classy, but there are cases when it is just too much. I especially mean when elegant ladies are expected to feel inferior to men, are expected to talk only about fluff topics like travel, weather, cutesy hobbies, children, home decor, and that they should believe that it is only men whose opinions matter in more serious topics, because they are smarter. I don't necessarily advocate talking about politics or religion publicly, unless someone is with close friends, but I see this with topics like science, psychology, education, the workforce... ladies, we are not living in the 1950s anymore, please do not feel unelegant for sharing your opinions in any topic more serious than which color you want your living room painted. - also on holding values from the past: I see some people thinking that elegance is, among other things, inherently about elitism and snobbishness, and about a voiced preference for older classics, no matter the topic is. That you can only read classic fine literature in your free time, you can only listen to classical music, only watch classic films, only care about classic fine arts, classic types of fashion... that id you are care about anything contemporary, especially any contemporary media or art form or piece of art that is considered to be valueless by some hyped and snobbish critics, you are, by default, trashy and uneducated. There is no issue with liking more "fluffy" things to cheer you up, or finding the beauty in certain books, movies, films that are looked down upon by some old-fashioned people. - that elegance means having a full face of make-up, wearing dresses or skirts with high heels and jewellery and having "graceful', bird-like movements all the time, and you cannot be elegant if you are not like that 24/7. There are obviously times when appearing this almost ethereally elegant being is just not as important than some other things. If you are really late from your only sibling's wedding for whatever reason, or you have to save someone from getting hit by a car, there is nothing with running like a madman. Or if you are being really sick at home, it is nothing wrong with not being all dolled up with perfect looking skin and freshly styled hair. And also, people should think about the occasion as well. I have seen people showing up full glam on funerals where you don't want to bring the attention to yourself if you are truly of class, or wearing heels and dresses to go on a hike.
