The pillows at the end are very cute! Looked like another nice cruising segment despite some rain which is a great salt wash-off if we can look at the bright side when it happens. And TWO Roger-Out's in one episode -- fantastic! Love and Peace!

Love the videos ed and Lynn. you guys inspired me to buy a yacht and work on refitting it and start to travel a bit. I became interested because of your videos. I live here in Fort Lauderdale and I’m learning all about how to refit this boat. Wish I was handy like you. Hopefully one day ill be able to say hi in person. Be safe and enjoy life.

Nice relaxing video, as always. Also enjoyed the music. Just curious, if you had your preference, would you go outside to the Ocean or do you prefer going through an inlet? I know it depends on the depth of the water, but if you could pick one over the other which one would you pick? Thanks for sharing and taking us along on your journey…Ed
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
We like being inside to explore, but after doing an area a couple times we would prefer to be outside, since it is much more relaxing. Since we have done the Atlantic ICW several times already, we try to go outside as much as possible, whenever the weather permits. When inside, I need to be at the wheel the entire time. Outside, I get to walk around, take a nap with Lyn on watch, etc.

Great video once again! I wanted to ask if u guys use Navionics as a back up, or possibly as sole, and most accurate nav system? What do u have as nav system on the boat now, and do u like it or would u switch to something else in the future? Appreciate everything! Did someone say Peach Daiquiri’s?
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
We use Navionics as our primary navigation tool. We have it on a couple of tablets. Our boat also has two Furuno chart plotters which we mainly use for radar. The Furunos are good but it is an older technology (no touch screen). We are very happy with Navionics. I did make some peach martinis!

Yes, we are using the Rich panels and the Victron controller, and we are very happy with it. Just wish we had a little more room for some additional panels.

Hi, I have a question, when you cast off and start to leave the docks, the boat rocks back and forth, having driven many boats in my life , large and small I have never noticed this, and for the life of me don't undestnd why this is happening. Maybe this is something the camera is picking up and you don't really notice it. Gotta love the views. LOL
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
It's just the camera, and the fact that I am often editing it to be 4x regular speed. The boat doesn't really rock much.

Just an observation, but is there an overly large amount of play in the steering gear form the upper station? Seems like a lot of steering input to maintain your heading.
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
There is no play, but the gear ration seems to be off. A full turn is only 5 degrees on the rudder. At the lower helm a full turn is 10 degrees.

I have a question about your Tender. From previous videos, your tender is a hassle to load/unload. My question is: is the fuel cost that much greater when you tow it behind the Triton?
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
I do not notice any difference in fuel cost. The reason we do not tow it all the time is because of waves, or because we are going into a marina. Once we get into the Exumas, it is being towed almost all the time.
@jeffreydavis25252 жыл бұрын
I understand, Thank you for the response!

Just curious, it seems you proceeding in a rather slack tide, yet it seems you are having to do quite a bit of oversteer. Is your ship being moved around so much that requires you to do so? On The Hard Ed
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
I believe the gear ratio is wrong on my upper helm wheel. I full rotation is 5 degrees on the rudder, but on the lower helm it is 10 degrees.

Georgetown is a greay little city. I believe that in pre-Civil war days it was the rice-exporting capital of the US. Their historic courthouse is just one block from the marina and many times I would attend a hearing at court and then walk over to the waterfront for lunch. You would not guess it but there is a lot of old money in that area.

We usually get about 300-400 gallons at a time and it takes about 20 minutes. Some marinas have high speed pumps and it only takes about 10-15 minutes.

Do you typically have to call ahead and reserve a transient slip at a marina, or is it something that can be done at the spur of a moment on the radio?
@tryingnottosink91072 жыл бұрын
Most times we call in the morning and ask for a slip for that day. Sometimes we call the day before. The only time we call earlier than that is on holiday weekends. We try not to call too far in advance because things change, weather can slow us down, etc.
