See, the thing here I find weird is the whole stigma u6 saiyans have against the super saiyan transformation. If I remember correctly (atleast based on the anime), U6 saiyans never even knew the form existed until vegeta showed cabba. If there was such a widespread disdain for the form amongst saiyans, then cabba and co would've already known about the form atleast from hearing about it. That's my two cents though, love the content!

They never have shown 17's wife and kids on screen or panel in either the official anime or manga. Their appearance and designs are completely fan headcanon. All we know officially is that his wife was an animal biologist, they adopted two of their children, and she was pregnant with 17's actual blood related child. That is it. We only know those details thanks to interviews featuring Toriyama & Toyotaro. It is because of this that some set of fans honestly believe that 17 lied and made up having a family to mess with Goku as an excuse as to not to fight.

If I remember correctly, age is calculated differently in Japan. When you are born, you are considering 1 year old. In the new years celebration, you are another year old.
