There's so many details in this game, like her clothes in the 1st - 3rd days are always different because she got home and then come again the next day. After she passed that door, her clothes remain the same from the 3rd day so i think its because she already entered the loop and can't go home anymore? Also when the 4th day begins, i think a sound like sirene could be heard. Perhaps in the 'real world' she had been missing and the police is now searching. I really enjoyed this atonement series!

While I definitely agree that these games seem very restrictive in their movements, I think there's some horror in that fact itself - That sense of being unable to escape the path laid out before you, of having no control over your fate...I think that's pretty creepy. That said....I also agree that this wasn't the best chapter (even though I rank it as my third favourite, but I am biased when it comes to horror using dolls or theme parks), because the concept is really good (if cliched) but the execution felt a bit....lacklustre. The atmosphere was still as delightfully creepy as the others, but the jumpscares were a bit over the top, and it is nice to see the English but it also felt rather jarring. I would love to see one of these where the spirit is "benevolent", but doesn't realise that in trying to be nice it's actually causing suffering. That could be played with in so many ways... All in all, I say thank you, Gab, because if I had never started watching you and your amazing translations, I would've never known gems like this even existed.

I also really like the one with the girl in the mirror! Such a crazy concept!! Another favorite is the one with the little girl who was trying to find her mother and somehow her and her family get turned into poles on the sidewalk!! Another really crazy concept it’s so creative

Its also a teacher thing, I imagine, you feeling the need to correct the language. we love these stories :) edit: okies, the older ones were better, but still not bad. our favorite was the little girl walking down the street with her dad.

Your Japanese accent is beautiful. I thought if was in-game until I was looking at you, not the game and you were speaking at that moment. The graphics are stunning and creepy too. Agree about the gameplay though. Very limited. It's a scrolling game where you do almost nothing. Which is a shame as it looks amazing. So glad that KZbin recommended your channel too me. Absolutely love it and what you do 😊

I do agree with you. This one is quite different from the rest. You surely expect something scary and creepy every next day or turn but in some point it still surprises you. This one was bombarded with noises and images to make it creepier and scarier. It is just too obvious. I guess that would be the best word to describe it.

I understand restrictive controls. It gets to the point where you ask yourself if you are even playing the game... what would be interesting to see is a slow removal of controls throughout the game. This part is just the feeling I got when I binged the playlist, but what if they are already gone and this day to day is just them going through the stages of death or some parallel? I feel that would be even creepier.

Yeah I feel overall this chapter?/episode? was definitely on the weaker end, however I did really love the transition scenes where it looks like she's a paper doll! And at the end there where she really started falling apart, she looked really cool and creepy.
@ianeborn68234 жыл бұрын
A few thoughts: - The whispering that plays over the italicised English text seems to be very indistinct English voice acting! - I think that the girl eventually took on the italicised text herself because it was no longer really her speaking: it was the spirit, controlling her as a puppet, speaking "for" her. - As others have said, I think that I agree that this wasn't one of the stronger entries in the series. Still watchable, given its length, but some of the others handled the horror elements a little better, I feel.

Wow, it's nice to finally see english subs in this series! Too bad that the rest of games can't have that option... Btw, it seems that the girl is possesed when she get to the park and that's why she just doesn't care about going home anymore, but that's just my interpretation, and yes, the jumpscares are excessive, and feel cheap for that same reason
@ValosiTiamata4 жыл бұрын
I love the concept and a lot of the details (that shot at the end is a perfect poster for the chapter). It kind of makes me wonder if the movement is a limitation of programming knowledge. It's easier to program a "rails" game than it is to create a game where the player can move in any direction and thus risk messing up a planned event. I'd strongly suggest having him play the Devil Came Through Here trilogy (or have him watch CJU's playthrough. They're excellent side-scrollers that will inspire him to expand control a little. In addition, Michalski has been very open about his experiences developing the trilogy and the interviews and videos he's done would be almost as good as having the man himself on-hand. These games are quite good for what they are, and whether or not they play like really great games, you can feel the passion. They also tend to have very great stories attached, so I'd love to see him branch out a bit on the gameplay for Chapter 5. It's the only thing really lacking. And even if he couldn't use your translation, it's always fun when you do a narrated translation, so I don't think anyone minded that parts weren't translated.

I've always loved the kinda "things are never really as they seem" feely stories also anything with a hint of old era vintage where on the outside every thing is prim and proper has its own delicate eeriness in my opinion.. not sure if that makes any sense lol

I think what would’ve been better is to not let us, the players, see what’s beyond the door that leads to the amusement park. It would’ve been better if the uncertainty of what’s ultimately the cause of the shining light behind the door and her wanting to stay forever was emphasized.

This one was my second Tsugunohi, so I have a soft spot for it, even if it does go crazy near the end. The way I took both the fourth and fifth day was that she wasn't in control of herself. Like you said, she wants to go home, but the second the dolls show up, she wants to play more. Even repeating what she said on the first day. Only the spirit was ever voice acted and everything on the final day is voice acted. So basically the spirit was speaking for her. She didn't say she wanted to be there. Basically you could say she was being played with, like a doll or toy. So basically she was trapped on day three. I read somewhere that the sirens and the sound of what could be war going on could mean the spirit is protecting her, but I always saw it as she was missing and the cops were right there but just couldn't get to the poor kid. Even if they could though, I don't know what they could have done. Recently picked this up for my Switch alongside Evil God Korone! Your videos started popping up so I thought I would watch! 😊

Man, when even the whispering voice says "Shouldn't you be going home?", it's time to go home, kid xD I agree that this was not as creepy as most of the previous chapters. The one with the mirror is awesome and I also love the one on the train. This one was a bit much, like you said, and it lost the subtlety that made the previous chapters' gradual changes so cool. Having said that, it was still pretty good and there was definitely a lot of effort put into it. This chapter reminds me of the short film "Alma". If you haven't watched it you really should! It's like 5 minutes and it's really good :)

I've been binging the whole playlist and in a previous video you said it'd be cool if this creator explored what happens if someone just leaves the ghost's territory. He listened! Though that seems to confirm that they just get beckoned back regardless. Honestly his translations were better than a lot of fan translations I've seen of games, so I think he did pretty well. Just needs some editing from a native English speaker. Though it's a shame you haven't been able to collaborate with him in those.

I saved this in my "watch later" but i just can't wait for a day of atonement episode 😂😂 i agree with you. the idea was really good, but the jumpscares weren't. also the story was unclear and i feel like that was in part due to the english translation. it was almost distracting

Is the “Dolls” movie you’re talking about the one with the stuffed bear attack in the beginning and the Punch and Judy dolls where the guy gets turned into Punch? We watched that movie in my grandpa’s old creepy house when I was about 8 and the room we stayed in had my moms porcelain doll collection in it. This is a fun! This is a MARRRRIO, lol. My apologies as I'm going to be blunt. This is my least favorite out of all the other games that I've seen you play in this series. And I do mean the very bottom of the barrel. The dolls were copy-paste, there was an overload of trying to be scary, and mayhaps I'm in the minority when I say this, but I didn't enjoy the whispering English voice-over. The combination of all these, made me just sit here with brows raised and going, "Okayyyy." What made the past games better was the subtle eerieness of the surroundings and the proper translation which you had graciously provided. It lets me figure things out on my own, without getting kicked out of the immersion process, as I watch a character slowly being pulled to his/her own hell. If there are more games coming out for this series, I truly do hope that its much better than this one.
