You can literally use the bags, pillowcases and even the shovel to make splinters out of the closet, use the fuel to burn the door and then the shovel to chip away at it, besides you don't have to break the lock just break the support holding it but the main downside would be the smoke
@ashleyward63414 жыл бұрын
In this situation stay calm. You saw a shovel, you saw many wooden/ metal beds. If it's too dark to see, crawl down the stairs on your hands and knees and carefully feel your way around, using your memory. (This may sound silly, but the last thing you want is to hit your head or break an arm falling down the stairs) and if for some reason you couldn't lift up or find any of those bigger items, (and this may sound gruesome but you are about to be bones if you don't do it) there were bones that could be broken and sharpened and used as tools/ weapons. Use these to either break down the door if you are strong enough, or carve out the wood around the hinges or in the rock/dirt around the hinges. (After 'mother" is gone of course, don't do this while she is waiting there listening) Afterwards keep the shovel and broken bone/wood on you as some kind of makeshift dagger or concealed weapon. I assume mother will be trying to leave the island to abandon you there while you starve or something, so work fast but calmly. You will want to be in full strength when you wait for her to leave the house so you can give her a wallop to the back of her noggin, or maybe even while she's getting her boat ready and has her back turned. Stay quiet, stay calm, and be observant for any weapons she has on her. After she is either dead, or just knocked out and tied up, try using the phone to call for help after she's incapacitated, and if the phone doesn't work, get on your mother's boat and leave. Better than nothing, even if you don't know where land may be. Leave the witch to die tied up somewhere in a locked room, get creative. After you get to land, go straight to police, and let them know a child murderer had killed a bunch of kids on an island, give them her name, as many of the kids names you can remember, don't leave out details. (Also why confront your mother in the first place when she called? Always keep your information to yourself if you feel endangered, if she thinks you do not suspect her, you are then the clueless helpless victim instead of the very well informed helpless victim)

I remember the first time I heard of these type of women. I was reading a bunch of 18th century fictional romance books/series and they have that as one of the situations some of the women were trying to put a stop to after a baby was forcable taken from an unmarried woman by her mother and given to a baby farmer with express instructions to kill the baby (luckily the person didn't kill the baby and instead gave to his barron sister and her husband far away to raise). Still horrified by just the thought!
@liamsinestra29024 жыл бұрын
@@HakamorraF No, not like abortion. Rather this would be a thing that people who had no choice for an abortion & this would be the murder of the born and not the termination of a fetus/the unborn. People who had children of their own but could not care for them (for a variety of reasons many being either the social or religious pressures around not getting an abortion or even the increased risk from seeking out an unsafe abortion). The baby farmer would accept payments in lump-sum or periodically long after they had already killed, neglected, tortured, and/or trafficked living human beings who were already born into a maliciously cruel world. Someone who gets an abortion pays for that abortion for either an unwanted child or a child that they would not be able to care for or a child that may be deserving of a better quality of life than could be provided. Often multiple VALID reasons. A VICTIM of an angel-maker gets exploited for money often for extended periods of time without the knowledge that their child was MURDERED.

I really like the way this game uses light and darkness. The unseen areas in this game actually add to the atmosphere rather than detracting from the whole experience. Other indie horror devs should take notes. I did find that phone call from mom broke the immersion ever so slightly for me. The narrative leap into emphatically stated danger was a little too abrupt, in my humble opinion. 10:45 In all these cautionary tales and written codices detailing the rites one must observe when summoning supernatural horrors, it turns what they really want is just some black forest gateux. They'll behave themselves on our plane of existence if you follow this handy occultist tip... ;3

I loved the video! It was so amazing to see and watch! *****SPOILERS******* Also I found it interesting with how the radio said under the docks and Linn made the mention that that was the location where she almost drowned. I'm now sure what or why she was under the docks that lead to her almost drowning but to me it's interesting that the box filled with Linn's real mom's letters are there. I'm not sure if anyone else had this thought but to me I feel like children tend to not repeat something if they almost die from it, and Linn is seen to have a lot of trauma. Within 5 minuets of getting into the house you see Linn still wrapped up in an argument that had already taken place with her mother and her being he only one phased (I feel like this is due to the mothers Manipulation, which isn't Linn's fault) but Linn is still worried about it- this shows she doesn't react and handle things well. now link it back to the docks, given her personality and her almost drowning I doubt Linn would have ever gone back under the docks after almost drowning, the mother must of knew this given Linn's personality so it's genius to hind Linn's mother's letter where she almost drowned. It's like if a child got attacked by a dog to the point they almost died due to the injuries, that child most likely will never approach a dog or a dog house again; so wouldn't that be the best place to store and hide something from that child? Even if that fear is no longer there, seeing as Linn was somewhat find during the boat ride ( I Say 'somewhat' because she was narrating something) I don't think she has a fear of water but just how her mind got censored (due to a trauma response, I have no doubt) she may have just quickly remembered she had drowned but no longer goes under the dock due to her brain conditioning her that it's dangerous. My brain did something similar to myself also. (I'm not sure it's my 'brain') but I almost drowned as a kid and in response I no longer go near deep waters in pools. I somewhat know how to swim and I'm tall enough to not drown; but I still subconsciously don't approach it. Maybe that was also Linn's case and that's why the letters were buried there. I don't know but I just found it smart. Similar to an animal, they tend to not return or repeat something they know will cause them pain.

I still believe that the mother made the boys act like girls(as you can see in the hiding spot, there are only depictions of girls in dress with male names, and it's the only place you can find a toy car). The protagonist doesn't remember the boys because they were all acting and dressed up as girls. I believe the protagonist is actually male but he doesn't know, somehow. The mother used drowning as a reconditioning method but accidentally ended up by killing Mikael. The protagonist survived enough because she's the only one who "succeeded" into turning into a girl(that's why the mother is an "angelmaker). The rejected kids were thrown into the cellar and left to die. But the mother killed/rejected the protagonist by the end because she got into the forbidden room(probably forbidden because of the mother's locked diary), and the mother thought the protagonist had read the diary and found out about everything. That's my main theory. My second one is that she's a pedo, thus why her bedroom is forbidden and holds lots of crosses(guilt). EDIT: just a little something else I realized. In the shed, the footprints ends right on front of a hacksaw. Maybe the mother just... cut their genitals off. It would explain the lots of painkillers in mother's bedroom along with the other meds.
@Kasarii5 жыл бұрын
"Angelmaker" is Scandinavian slang for child-killer, sorry. Used to be that the people, usually women, who'd take in children born out of wedlock, only got a flat fee at the moment they took the child in. Some mothers kept sending resources to support their children, but they wouldn't have any legal recourse for visiting the child, and would be heavily discouraged from seeking contact by their families. So, strictly speaking, child survival wasn't mandatory to make money in this field, and in fact might ruin the cost/benefit side if the child lived longer than the money lasted. The assumption was that children would be innocent enough to get in to Heaven, so the killers that were found out usually tried to claim that they had been saving them, a kind of contemporary insanity plea.
@regulussky65605 жыл бұрын
@@Kasarii I read about that term previously when I first watched this played by CJU, so I already knew it. But I think that if this game is just about that, it would not surprise players whom are familiar with that term. I think "angelmaker" is just to mislead and make people think its just simple as that, but there is more into it. I don't think the details I pointed out in my previous comment are there just for nothing as mere coincidence. From the letters under the deck, a woman mentions that the mother previously lost a child(daughter?). I think its silly to ignore all the other hints only because of the "angelmaker" term, like "if she's angelmaker, that's it".

@@regulussky6560 Just a little doubt, as far as I know, Linn isn't a male name, so since the "mom" forced all the other children to act like girls, isn't it that Linn was just an actual girl, and thus were "favored" by default?
@regulussky65605 жыл бұрын
@@Minohorse My name is Allison, and in the country I live Allison is a male name, despite it is mostly a female name in other countries. Just take a look in the hiding spot. There are only drawings of kids in dresses but with male names. The only toy you can find in the house are dolls(including in the cellar), but inside the hiding spot is the only place you will find a toy car, so maybe it was the only place where Mikael and maybe other kids were allowed to act like boys. Possibly, the protagonist was the "chosen one" for having more female traits, like prettier girly face, girly voice or even by just looking like her deceased daughter. Remember that the protagonist also drowned as a kid, I believe by "her" mother as a reconditioning method, just like she did to Mikael and possibly all the other kids, but the protagonist doesn't remember and believes that she got drowned by her own. Mikael's spirit is trapped inside the house because he was the only kid that died inside the house, by the mother, accidentally drowned in the bathtub to death. The rest of the spirits must be inside the cellar, where mother willingly abandoned the rejected kids to die.

The character in question was definitely female. Hi great play through this was a good game story whise it was pretty easy to follow. The only thing that I thought that the developers could have done better was some of the game mechanics other than that not bad for a free game .

I guess Gab already knows it, but "mor", is Swedish for, "mom" ("moeder", in Dutch, hence why it's obvious to Gab). I know in one update video Gab said her last name and not to try to pronounce it, but as a Swede/Norwegian (grown up in both countries, speak both languages), I find it rather easy to understand most (about... 80%) Dutch. It's kind of a mix between German and English, with a small portion of French. It's Vlaams that I struggle with. :P

Andreas Kristensen is it not mama that means mom in swedish? Or is it both? Just wondering as mor means mom in danish too
@boringpolitician5 жыл бұрын
@@cielemborg3069 - Eh, it's complicated. Yeah, the Danish word, "moar", is more like the Swedish word, "mamma". The Swedish word, "mor", is more formal. Like "mother".
@cielemborg30695 жыл бұрын
Andreas Kristensen its actually just mor, i am danish i was curious, i lived in sweden for 2 years and only ever heard mama. The formal way in danish is moder.

@@cielemborg3069 - "Moar, du må være stille, der er fjernsyn for dig!". Yeah, I know. Grammatically correct it's, "mor", though, it's often phonetically written as, "moar". Btw, there's a double m in the Swedish word, "mamma". I would explain that as it being a hard consonant, but, Danish and all... It's complicated. And by that, I mean no ill, it's just... The Danish language has hard consonants, almost always, where as vowels are soft. In Swedish, it's the other way round, unless it's a double consonant. As in "mamma". Which is why Ciel (nice name btw!) is writing it with one m.

Andreas Kristensen ah okay, well usually moar is like “ moar i really want something” like a nickname for moms but yea, and thanks! I really like my name too haha
