For those people who say they are "stuck" in Level 2, Level 1, etc. You are not stuck. Remember that progress is not linear. You won't notice one day you're already in Level 10 and nailing those Korean sentences. :)

Just to share my story and thanks to all those at ttmik: I began learning Korean at the beginning of 2013. I was lucky to be accepted into an intensive Korean language program at my college, where we would have 4 hours of Korean language learning in the morning, 5 days a week. (tests practically every dayㅠㅠ) During that semester, I came across your website at the time. I would often listen to your lessons and read the different grammar topics, which allowed me to get ahead in my learning. Really, if it wasn't for ttmik, I don't think I would've ever passed that first semester. I eventually visited Korea multiple times during my college career, and even majored in Korean. Throughout my time, I would often refer to your website and videos to help me get a better grasp of grammar that we were learning. Fast forward to today, I currently teach Korean at a high school to a little over 100 students (only maybe 3 of them having Korean ties). I often reference your KZbin channel and I always recommend your website as a resource. I'm confident that your lessons are presented in a way that my students won't feel bored having to "learn outside of class". Back in 2013, I never thought I'd be a teacher, especially not a Korean teacher! But here I am. And I owe a big part of my success to all of you at Talktomeinkorean. 감사합니다!

I'm trying to finish ttmik this year. It'll take me 293 days because I'm half way through level 1. This is your reminder that language learning takes time! It takes time and dedication and effort. I discovered TTMIK at around 2010 during the golden days of kpop (2nd gen) and at the height of kdrama popularity in my country. I think I stopped at level 5 more than 5 yrs ago and this video totally gave me flashbacks to my Korean language learning in the past. I was forever stuck at intermediate level because I stopped studying and now I think I need to get back at it and finally step up my Korean language skills. I've only seen the past 3 years of your journey as I've covered 4.8 levels, but I've listened (and re-listened and re-re-listened) to five levels of your podcast, which includes your early days. I am very aware of the weight of years of your work as well as your major milestones when you mentioned not being married, then being married, adding more teachers, then having children...when you talked about the weather or the view out your window, I was aware that the seasons cycled around and around repeatedly and episode count adding up...Anyone who goes through all your podcasts will also feel that 10 level books is another major milestone for you. @@raykarpp I used to study every day (about 3 lessons a day) when I had too much free time but now I don't have a lot of time so I review lvl 6-7 and from time to time I do one lesson from lvl 8 and also I study a lot by watching YT and making my own transcripts (eg. I did a transcript from I.N.'s vlog from Stray Kids) ~ Oh and I can recommend you "빅키샘Miss Vicky" channel. she is such an amazing teacher and explains every grammar point perfectly, I really love learning from her

Back in 2017 when I was doing my summer internship, I would download the free podcasts to listen on my 1-hour long commute every day to kill time and that's how I was able to improve my Korean really fast. TTMIK lessons and podcasts were really helpful and I felt somehow sad when I finished all the 9 levels. After finishing all the levels I've just been learning passively by looking up stuff when I stumble upon things I don't know and I sometimes study from the News In Korean book that I bought from you guys but it just isn't the same as actively learning from something structured like your lessons! I'm so excited to go back to active learning again. Thank you so much for doing this. You guys by far have the best lessons online. I just want to thank you guys SO MUCH for making all of these efforts and sharing these SUPER HELPFUL lessons. I truly and sincerely appreciate it.❤️ As someone who has been always into South Korea, the Korean culture and language, it was always my goal to learn Korean some time, and this goal started to grow and grow, so I finally got serious about it and decided to start learning Korean last year. I tried some language learning apps but it was so frustrating and I found it hard to stay motivated to use them frequently. Then I got familiar with your KZbin channel and a bit later, after I got disappointed of all the apps, I started to listen to TTMIK lessons. What interests me is that since the day I started using TTMIK, I've never missed any day! So far, I listened to the lessons every single night before sleep. I've learned lots of vocabularies and grammars and made lots of progress. Congrats guys! I'm almost done with level 1 and it's really well done. I really feel like I'm learning after each chapter. I have a hard time learning languages; I'm a visual learner, so reading and memorizing a bunch of stuff doesn't come naturally to me. They way you set every lesson up and space out what you learn is very comprehensive and well thought out, so I don't get overloaded. @@thearmyofskank ummm, I'd say for me personally my listening and reading skills are alot better than my speaking, I still can carry a conversation comfortably but I'm not where i want to be, mostly because I don't study that much anymore and also because I dont get to use it every day because I don't know a lot of Korean ppl, I try to listen to alot of Korean tho, whether it's a variety show or some KZbin videos, I can watch them without subs, I might come across a word I dont know but I'd either end up understanding the meaning when I listen to the sentence or I'll just look it up quickly. I'm Sorry English isn't my first language, I hope you understood my paragraph 🤣

Finally! ☺️ I remember the first time I discovered TTMIK, as far as I can remember (if I'm not mistaken) 현우 선생님 and 경은 선생님 were still single and unmarried to their respective spouses that time. ☺️ TTMIK was really my first stepping stone in landing to my Online Korean Language Instructor career now. With that, I guess I can call myself a "TTMIK Kid" 😅 I even have a full notebook where TTMIK lessons are written. Do you have any plan to create other lessons for other languages as well? like maybe Talk To Me In Japanese/French/Dutch, etc. I think you guys have the best teaching methods and my Korean improved a lot by listening to your Korean Essential lessons. 현우 쌤 그리고 경은 쌤, 티티믹을 만들어주셔서 너무 감사합니다. 사실은 새로운 것을 배우는 게 정말 어렵고 지루해서 포기하기 쉬운데 티티믹하고 쌤들의 라방을 찾았어서 매일 매일 한국어 공부를 열심히 했고 이제 제 한국어는 이 정도예요. 쌤들 덕분에 이제 친구들한테 한국어로 말할 수 있고 드라마나 예능 프로그램을 보면 이해할 수 있더라고요~~ 그래서 너무 너무 감사해요 정말 ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ 쌤들 다 보고 싶고 혹시 라방을 다시 해주면 기대할게요!! 화이팅!!!

i'm only on level 4 right now but the way ttmik has helped my intrinsic understanding of the language and has helped me be more comfortable with using it is something ive never experienced before with any other language learning resource, so this makes me really happy

*C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S* on publishing Level 10! 7:42 “…I am sorry that we were beginners at running a business before and sorry that we were too busy trying to survive and make the company grow a little more…” You _have_ to realize how truly insane that apology is! Obviously, you don’t have to apologize for working hard to ensure that your company survives. Moreover, I seriously doubt that you and 경은 could have come up with that perfect blend of free and paid-for content-which I think is really a large part of TTMIK’s success-had you both not been utterly naïve about running a business. Sure, people want money but it always feels to me like everyone at TTMIK actually _cares_ helping people learn Korean first and foremost. I don’t think you could inspire the loyalty-and, yes, even love-for TTMIK that people have without that commitment. (The _Harvard Business Review_ could probably do a great case study on TTMIK, actually.)

I started learning korean since 2011. Lucky to have found TTMIK, the most comprehensive resource for learning korean in english. Really happy to see how TTMIK progress throughout these years. Well done TTMIK teachers! TTMIK 만세! ㅋㅋㅋ
