I feel I must mention a movie I only recently found is available on Tubi that some of your viewers might be interested in. It's Dr. Zhivago. It's from 1965 and based on the novel by Boris Pasternak. It won a ton of Oscars. I saw it when I was a teenager, thought it was great and I believed my mother liked it too.

Last Action Hero was one of my favorites. The entire movie was a parody of the action genre. When he and the kid visit the video store and see the poster for Terminator (I'm not gonna spoil it here), is WONDERFUL. Backstory for the sequence when he and Maria attend opening night for his newest movie: he asked Maria to be in the scene. She asked him, "What should I talk about?" He responded, "same thing you always talk to me about, Planet Hollywood, and how I should not talk about Planet Hollywood."

With "premium" streaming services raising prices and forcing us to watch commercials anyway, we should all be moving toward free services like Tubi, Pluto, Crackle etc. There are some dope movies and tv shows on these platforms. Paid services are feeling the effects of their greed, which is why they're all trying to get live sports. Without sports or a small handful of exclusive content, they would be obsolete.

the first crow movie was indicative of everything that is wrong w adaptations. it turned a horror book into an over the top action flick.
@waverlyking60452 ай бұрын
@@vforwombat9915 I have not read the Crow comic so I can’t vouch for how close it sticks to the source material. However, it is indisputable that a lot of people love the movie for what it is rather than hating on it for what it isn’t. It proved Brandon Lee could act. It had a great, charismatic villain in Michael Wincott. The set design and cinematography were awesome. It had some really good side characters. And, it had the best soundtrack imaginable for its time. But one more thing, James O’Barr was actively involved in making the first film. So, I think his opinion on the matter carries the most weight.
@vforwombat99152 ай бұрын
@@waverlyking6045 "that a lot of people love the movie for what it is' i think that partially has to do w Brandon Lee and the accident. Take away his performance and his death, and the movie is... okay btw, if you like graphic literature at all, you can get the Crow in a collected edition, might be 20, maybe 30$. it's beautiful and devastatingly sad. i have not seen the new one, but i like the comic so much i will, even if it sucks. "it had the best soundtrack imaginable for its time. I’m thinking I’m definitely going to have to have me a groovy double feature since I own both movies digitally Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness since I do know that Army of Darkness is the only Evil Dead movie to pick up immediately after a previous installment. In this case when Ash goes through the portal at the end of Evil Dead 2 and ends up in medieval times at the beginning of Army of Darkness, also whenever I play online co op games with my uncle and we finally beat a boss that we have been stuck on for days I always have Ash Williams voice pop up in my head saying “Who’s laughing now!!!” Sorry just so many iconic moments and I don’t think Evil Dead 2 would be nearly as iconic or hilarious without the irreplaceable Bruce Campbell in the role of Ash Williams.
