Great video, thanks for the education. A couple of months ago I bought an '07 Limited CRD with 41,000 miles. I've been driving Jeeps for 40 years and this is my first diesel anything. I'm soaking up any and all information I can on it. Videos like yours really help. And I agree with Amy about the music. I live in the woods with no close neighbors; I kept thinking I was hearing kids outside.

I've got an 08 3.0 and I stinking love that thing. It's a beast and it just chugs through everything, on road or off-road. I haven't deleted or tuned mine yet, but I get around 17mpg in town. Mine is lifted with 32s and a roof basket so that's pretty impressive for a stock engine.

I own an 07 CRD green diesel tuned running 32in Falken wildpeak tires looks amazing. I put on a old man emu 2 in lift not cheap but quality. This fixed all of the soft suspension issues and 11in of ground clearance to boot.

Wow, my ’07’s only difference is I also have JBAOffroad upper control arms, JCR rock sliders, ProComp AT/Sport (I run these on all my trucks), Rubicon rims and Goliath front bash plate. Getting ready to get a Mopar transfer case skid plate and then gas tank. I have ~175,000 and this thing runs at 95 all day long and is a train on the trails. Congrats!!

I delite the inside of the dpf en reprogram it end also reprogram the EGR (it is of now) I’m also thinking to delete the the insite of the kat but people said to me that the engine or turbo giving problems.... Cannot tell you how stoked I am to have goind your channel! I bought an 08 WK CRD a year ago, and started having some of the known issues immediately...it's honestly been one hiccup after another, but I know the potential in these, and it's great to see some more well put together videos about them! Question, I did a Malone tune, similar to GDE (They got shut down before I could get a tune) that shut off the EGR, Swirl Valve and allowed for the DPF delete. I want to hollow out my cat's, did you have to do anything with the sensors when you installed the new exhaust, as to not throw a code? Stoked to see what comes next!
@modifyd25184 жыл бұрын
We're excited to have you be apart of the Modified family Brandon! With our GDE tune we did not have to modify any sensors except we did connect a tube going from one end of the DPF sensor (the one that detects when the dpf gets clogged using vacuum) back to its self as recommended by GDE.

Hey I have one of those jeeps. Don't bother with the MBRP free flow muffler. I put it on mine and it still drones just as much inside. It is a bit quieter outside but doesn't sound as good.

Thank you Darryl! that's a good to know heads up.
@D-RAIL_oOIIIIIIIOo4 жыл бұрын
@@modifyd2518 your best bet probably is to keep the factory tailpipe with the factory muffler, and do the deletes from there forward. Deleting the dpf and leaving the factory muffler in doesn't increase the exhaust sound volume much. If you delete the catalytic converter you will more than double the volume. Not sure how that will sound with the factory muffler though. Mine is 3 inch straight pipe front to back. I got the 3" MBRP DPF back straight pipe exhaust. It was too loud (for the neighbors) so I bought a MBRP 3" inlet/outlet universal glass pack straight through muffler. I just cut out the pipe and band clamped the muffler in.

@@modifyd2518 you know...if you do a turbo upgrade with the properly modified tune you can then share some more similarities with the AMG 6.4. There are AMG injectors you can swap out with a bigger turbo and die map

I just bought a 2008 Cherokee CRD with the GDE eco tune and i reached out to GDE for the updated tune to delete the DPF but they won’t sell me the update tune because of emissions. Do you have any idea where i could find that update? I am having trouble with the DPF. Thank you
@wrjeezy153 жыл бұрын
I believe they will not get you that from other pages I have read. You might have to get a new tune from another company. SFT (sofakingtuned) Malone or Yeti is the only 3 that I know of left
@modifyd25183 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately GDE has stopped selling the off-road tune because of the crack down from the epa last year on these types of tunes. There are still a few company's that sell off road tunes such as Malone, like mentioned above.

You find the same torque in the Hemi as the diesel, and the Hemi will last just as long if not longer with lower service cost over its life.
@modifyd25183 жыл бұрын
I've driven the Hemi's and personally felt the diesel has much more torque, especially at lower rpm plus better mpg. Also a lot of sprinters out there with hundreds of thousands of miles but a srt8 jeep with the 6.1 and 6.4 Hemi is definitely on the list to drive!

Help !!! I have a 08 Jeep with a 3.0 CRD with 170k miles on it, throttle warning light came on so I went to my local dealership and they want $4500 bucks to fix it. They say the intake may be full of carbon...I think they’re full of poop
@ijANMedia3 жыл бұрын
Had the same problem, went to a tuner shop to check it out, and it turned out a turbo actuator/ECU problem, a little tune and 150 euros later the car was fixed Signs that I had: -The throttle warning light wasn't on all the time, only lit up sometimes -The check engine light was on -Reduced power
@modifyd25183 жыл бұрын
could be a few things, one in particular the swirl valves could be causing problems, on this jeep the swirl valves have been deleted along with some other parts, but a tune is needed to do this. At the end of the day its best to take it to a local shop that preferably specializes in Mercedes/dodge/freightliner sprinters or this engine.

Stock 0 - 60 time is supposed to be 7.7 seconds.
@modifyd25184 жыл бұрын
I know the App I was using probably wasn't the most accurate but i just chose to stay with it for the sake of consistency, definitely need to find a better way of measuring 0-60 in future videos.
@D-RAIL_oOIIIIIIIOo4 жыл бұрын
@@modifyd2518 I have come to the conclusion that apps based on a smartphone's gps is just not accurate enough. There is most often a delay before it realizes you are moving. Smartphone GPS is only designed to keep up to travelling on a map, I don't think it is tuned to tenths of a second accuracy. I have used the same app you used here and others. I never get consistent readings.
@finnishfatman3 жыл бұрын
No Darryl, stock 0-60 time is supposed to be close to 9 seconds (8.6-9... between that) on CRD. 5.7 Hemi is in low 7 seconds. Also, phone apps can have the option to detect movement based on GPS and/or phones own accelerometer (with decent enough adjustments to make it in the tenths of a second). Only thing that's "bad" for phone apps is end speed logging, since in reality, even with proper gps Hz refresh rate there is a "lag", meaning the vehicle actually reached that 60 just before gps could refresh. But still, they can achieve tenths of a second accuracy very easily. At least if you're using some decent phone, not one of those cheap ones that have crappy build-in-everything. But yeah... no stock CRD can do 0-60 in 7.7, unless accelerating on steep downhill :'P
