tunnels need to be fiercely protected. my piggies will guard an entrance all night long. I don't know if it's dominance or being like a sentinel to stop other groups from coming in to their area in the wild. but it's fun to watch

At least they haven't gotten the idea of jumping on top of the tunnels! Cid and Nero, two of my boys, have two tunnels (the fiddlesticks kind), and when Nero gets in Cid's face and Cid rumblestruts at him, Nero jumps up on top of a tunnel and stands up there where Cid won't go after him. 🤣 I've had to put taller grids between their cage and their neighbor's cage (Kylo) in case Nero ever gets the idea that he wants to try to jump into Kylo's cage for a visit. 😬

Hey I miss my guinea pigs I started with 9 and they had amazing little life's lived until about 8 years only lost my last one Teddy early this year I was too upset to get any more love watching yr videos xx

A cheap way to make tunnels if you cant afford those in the video is take some pvc pipe and make a little horizontal frame, then cut sleeves and pants legs off old clothes and put them on the frame. PVC pipe is super cheap. The sleeves are free, and easily washed in a machine. My piggies faves are two old bathrobe sleeves. If it gets cold in your house sleeves are good to burrow into for warm cozy naps.
