It very much depends on what lifestyle you're going for. If you want chaotic wild fun and high-energy nightlife, Bangkok is definitely for you. But if you're into a classier , calmer, and sophisticated lifestyle, then Kuala Lumpur is the place to be!😊

Bangkok truly a party city and the vibe is super high. KL in another hand is more family oriented and enjoys slow pace of life. Both capital cities did well in their efforts to lure in expats. Bangkok is like a huge foodcourt that thrive with high volume of people. It needs vibrant and quick money with young people or people young at heart. Their business is thriving and booming. KL is like a proper restaurant that provide comfort and serene ambient. People who attracted to this kind establishment are usually have deeper pockets but conscious of their money. Able to spend but consciously spending to enjoy the finer things in life. So…Bangkok went for the volume and KL went for a niche market. And Malaysia as a muslim country, it cant rely 100% on sin money. It needs stimulus to generate money that devoid of sin money as much as they can. Thailand…is an opened book. You can buy almost everything at any given time if get my drift. No malice thou but it just a fact. That is why both countries have different programs for expats. Each has different target markets.

KL not many live in so called KL territory . because it is small compared other cities in terms of acreage area. But prop!e who work in KL live in so call a greater KL, like PJ , shah alam , damansara , taman tun , bukit damansara , bukit kiara , damansara perdana , bangi , subang jaya etc etc . greater KL is spread due to hills and greens . greater . the total population in the greater KL is 10 million or more . and KL has most number of skyscrapers in South east Asia . KL is not just about city center

@@abhs1141 If you look at all the parameters, Bangkok is a lot bigger than Kuala Lumpur. The Greater Kuala Lumpur is just a term coined for metropolitan development surrounding the city of Kuala Lumpur and not a part of Kuala Lumpur Proper. If you want to consider all those townships/towns/cities as a part of Kuala Lumpur then you might as well include the whole state of Selangor and better yet rest of the Peninsula as Kuala Lumpur.

Malaysia has the MM2H visas for long term stay. Also, East Malaysia states Sabah and Sarawak have their own version of the MM2h visa. Might want to check out that out

Both KL and Bangkok are very attractive city within their own vibes, both most affordable city in this region. Most western tourists can enjoy 90 days in Malaysia upon arrival and 60 days in Thailand. It's all down to personal preference when making a decision to stay for a longer period of time for the expatriates and for the digital nomads.

I like thai food. But after one month I'll get tired of Thai food. Malaysia is multi cultural, any time i can alternately choose many options from Chinese food, Indian, malay cooking, Indonesian, plus Thai food. Plus increasing plenty of middle eastern food. So basically I can agree with a lot of things you said, but i don't know where you got the idea that Bkk have better food options.

Not true Bkk got more foods option than KL. Thai dishes based on 3 main ingredients : eggs, pork & chicken...if you want to eat beef & mutton in Thailand you will need to do google search and probably will find it in high end restaurant. KL on the other hand have more diverse foods from different nationality on the streets vs Bkk 90% foods on the streets is Thai's foods. You can easily get beef noodles or Briani mutton on the streets in KL. Night life & adult entertainments Bkk win Vs KL but for Noise pollution, more trees & parks and better Air quality KL win.
