To me it seems like Ed is worried about how black people in general are going to be portrayed by Tupac (since he is the voice of the community) and if this may cause some dissonance and might cost them in future being viewed the way Pac puts it in the perspective for others to see, that is being rough, violent, thugged out, out of control etc which is not pretty.
