I have polymyalgia and make the golden milk which really helps the pain. I make it into a paste and store in the refrigerator. That way I just add the milk and strain. Will try it as ice tea. In addition to fresh ginger, I use candied ginger if I want something sweetened and then eat the ginger as a treat. Thank you for your video. Always very informative.
@opal7775 жыл бұрын
Glad that you mentioned the candied ginger. I still have some of that, but am out of the ginger root. :-)

Izzaboutchu! I actually buy 5 pound bags of candied ginger on amazon for tea. I eat them as a treat after I drink the tea. I just put some in a mason jar by my tea maker. Lasts for a very long time.

Swallowing the ground pepper by drinking makes me feel like I'm gonna choke though. Can I just steep it and then strain it out? Ah. Never mind!! You answered me. :D . Thanks.
@mmpoggs20334 жыл бұрын
You won’t get the benefits of the turmeric without the ground black pepper as that is what makes the tumeric bio available to the body.

Thank you for both of these recipes. I see that there has been some controversy in the Comments re: soy and cancer. I am a double breast cancer survivor. My breast cancer was the most common: hormone positive. While there have been many studies on soy and it’s possible link to breast cancer, the jury is still out. Many studies were done on Asian women; but Asian women tend to have had a lifetime of exposure to soy, and, perhaps more importantly, have not spent a lifetime consuming the dangerous, high-fat, high-sugar, highly processed foods of the American diet, so results could be culturally skewed. Because of that, and my history with breast cancer, I tend to stay away from soy products. (And I actually like soy milk!) Fortunately, as you mention in the video, there are lots of good alternatives.

Soy does NOT cause cancer because if it did, Asian’s would be on top of the list for cancer! Soy is being consumed on a daily basis in Asian countries and there is no word for menopause in those countries. Soy is heart healthy and has a fair amount of protein which is a complete protein by the way. I am 76 and been eating soy product for many years, never had a problem with it so far, I am also on a plant based diet. Soy beans and soy foods may reduce a host of many health problems like cardiovascular disease, stroke, coronary heart disease as well as some cancers, it is also great for bone health which is a specially important for women. Soy products have also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties! If people think that eating fatty bacon and lots of meat is healthy for them, they best re-think that one! Also, protein that you get from eating meat is a second hand protein from a grass eating animal that got its protein from a plant it consumed and that you are now eating in order to get protein into your body! The original diet that God had created for mankind to eat was plant based, not meat based, read it in Genesis, meat wasn’t allowed to be eaten until after the flood.
