When I was a kid my mom always gave me the stems from red cabbage to eat or raw potato cubes before lunch, she also fixed Boston salad which is more common in Europe than in the USA with lemon yogurt and a little vinegar and mustard. In the wintertime, we had chicory salad with mandarins. She also mixed 2 teaspoons of 80% cacao, banana, and unpasteurized milk into our oatmeal. And I still live very healthily.... no meat, no fish, and a lot of veggies and fruits. When doctors take a blood test they are amazed and tell me my immune system is 500% higher than a regular person's. I never will get a flu shot (because I almost died of it) and I hardly have the flu or cold. I walk a lot in the forests as well, which is very good for your health. Use safe allulose or monk fruit (best with pure monk fruit sweetener, without erythritol) to sweeten cacao instead of refined sugar, or next best, coconut sugar which has a lower glucose response than refined sugar. But the real issue is high lead and cadmium in cacao. They must get the lead and cadmium out, or find lead, cadmium free sources. *update* - someone else commented: "After much research I found a company which addresses this issue … Elements is the brand… it is organic, delish and packaging is lovely. They have several hot chocolate flavors … I highly recommend!" And, as someone else mentioned, high oxalates can be a real problem, can possibly create kidney stones for some. But adding some calcium source (maybe dairy) helps counteract the harm from oxalates.

"One problem with the oral intake of polyphenols is the small proportion of polyphenols absorbed into the bloodstream (low bioavailability). Many polyphenols have positive biological properties in low doses, such as those found in plants, but can also have toxic effects in in vitro tests and in high doses. If they are used in high doses or for a long time, such effects are also possible in the organism, which is why such doses and/or long-term use are rather unusual. Apigenin, quercetin, taxifolin and kaempferol, for example, have a cytostatic effect, which is why they and some other polyphenols, e.g. pyrocatechin, genistein and gossypol, are classified as harmful to health, and quercetin is even classified as toxic."

Do not ask your doctor about nutrition because they dont know the answer. Although nutrition education varies by school, a 2021 survey of medical schools in the U.S. and U.K., published in the Journal of Human Nutrition and Dietetics, found that most students receive an average of 11 hours of nutrition training throughout an entire medical program. How can a doctor know anything helpful with 11 hours study?

The highest amount of the polyphenol anthocyanin is found in Red raspberries: 5-38 mg. Black grapes: 3-39 mg. Plums: 5-34 mg. Blueberries: 11-26 mg. Black beans: 1-15 mg. Red currants: 2-11 mg. Red wine: 4-10 mg. Red onions: 7 mg. I guess chocolate sells better...

i just started sprouting broccoli microgreen, cause 2 microgreen ladies were not coming to my Medicinal Agriculture festival and give free samples. So, I had to sprouts broccoli myself, then, it occurred to me, I should promote sprouting microgreen for self sustainability since microgreen has highest nutrient density and person can grow them quickly.

From what I've come to understand, fasting - for 24 hours - allows your immune system to charge up and do that thorough "sweep" of our insides and get things healing. I also believe it's been shown that practicing meditation extends ones telomeres, helping to extend life. 🙏

Some years ago when I developed panic attacks after the death of my husband, I went on a yoga retreat with my teacher in Costa Rica. She arranged for us to have cacao ceremony. It was all you can drink and eat. I had very little because I knew that it contained caffeine which I had given up due to my panic attacks. I did have a panic attack that night. I don’t think anyone in the group slept much that night
@CJDane-rf1je4 ай бұрын
Okay what is your point I'm sorry for the loss of your husband but Why is this here?
@walterscott22864 ай бұрын
You've been conditioned to believe that you WILL have a panic attack if you ingest any caffeine. But...surprise, surprise. Cocoa has very little caffeine in it. I used to have HORRIBLE panic attacks when I was in my 30s. I'm now in my 60s, and have never had a panic attack in over 30 years! Yet I consume dark cocoa twice daily...regular green tea...and a strong cup of regular coffee per day. Here's all that a panic attack is: TOO MUCH STRESS PILED UP, LOCKED UP, accumulated IN THE BODY DURING THE DAY! A panic attack is like a too tightly wound up spring suddenly snapping loose. Cure: PLENTY of physical exercise day by day to DISSIPATE your Neuro muscular stress. Brisk walking..Yoga...Deep, full breathing, dancing, Stretches, warm baths, cold showers, weight lifting, Pilates...Any kind of physical exercise or muscle relaxation exercise will keep your inner "spring" from getting wound too tight.

@@CJDane-rf1je I believe she is pointing out the fact that cocoa has even more caffeine than coffee and if you have a health issue that caffeine could adversely effect, maybe you would want to avoid the chocolate or at least be aware.
