This is what I have worked on for a few weeks now, having had the same advice from my pro at the club. It has worked like a dream. The strong grip took some getting used to but now I feel so comfortable with the driver now. Thanks Ali your videos are so easy to understand and follow. Hoping to lower my handicap this year.

Yes. I did. I’ve actually been working on this and it’s helped reduce my slice. I would go between a slice and a fade. I now can pretty much hit a draw or keep it straight. The majority of the drives I need to make on my favorite local course is a draw. It’s helped my distance and accuracy. I was hesitant to even hit a driver off the tee. I would typically go with my 3wood because I hit it straighter(around 225) and now I’m getting about 250 with my driver. I’m a little guy about 5’7” 150, so that’s pretty good in my book lol.

Thanks for this one, Ali. I have only started fading or slicing my driver since my Driver fitting. The guy said I had natural fade with my swing and path. One of the other pros at our club suggested the same as you about moving the right foot back a couple of inches. I will have to give it a go. PS I am much better now with my golf over all since your less is more video, so thank you. I am getting my summer distances in the winter since that video. So improved about a club and a half.

THANK YOU! I can't tell you how many "Fix your slice" videos I have watched. Finally one that is simple and makes since. I have tried for years to fix my swing path and just can't seem to get the inside out thing figured out. Changing the grip and dropping my right foot back is the smartest thing I've seen.

Thanks for the tips. Waiting for the snow to melt before hitting the range! When you strengthen your grip, do you actually close the club at address or just turn your hands more to the right at address allowing the club face/wrists more ability to turnover on the swing?

Thanks so much for this advice. I do struggle losing it right but working on my hip turn through the strike has also helped from a previous video!👌🏾

Thank you for this!! These changes had me hitting straight yesterday for the first time ever. Going to slowly increase speed/distance but it was a great feeling to hit the fairway!!

Thanks, I definitely tried the path correction 1st. Hasn't worked at all. Now back to practice!

I'm definitely one of the players that tried changing my path before changing the club face. Back to range I go!! Thanks man!!

I have changed the path before the face. When it goes well it’s a lovely draw. When it goes bad it worse. Thanks didn’t know this thanks Ali.

Been working on closing the face and pointing slightly right of target (I’m LH), and now have a workable fade that puts it somewhere near my intended target. Next up is path, and I’m trying to get the separation of hips/torso rotation to encourage that ‘dropping it down’ and on the inside out path.
@AliTaylorGolf2 жыл бұрын
Still make sure face is slightly more closed or you'll have a push fade

When you make a stronger grip for a right hand swing do you just strengthen the right hand or left hand or both?

Strengthening the grip is the best and most effective means of fixing slices, I've found. Feels awkward at the beginning, but it's also easy to adjust if you end up going too far left too.

I’ve just started initiating my swing with my left knee, think this has changed my club path, which in turn has resulted in a lot of slicing 😭 Should I strengthen my grip on just my driver or all of my clubs as well?

I went to the indoor range this morning. Hit my wedges and irons pretty straight, but sliced my driver. I feel like I hit irons better when I don't "rotate" all the way through, and my driver better when I rotate more, or hook with my driver the more I rotate. Does that make any sense? I'm a right arm dominant player that plays lefty.
@AliTaylorGolf2 жыл бұрын
Depends what is rotating, more body should mean less hook

Used to slice it terribly until I had a lesson and now hit it reasonably straight, with about a 60 yard gain, with the odd one going straight but to the left. Certainly makes the game more enjoyable

If your driver is adjustable, try adding loft

Not really how you fix an out to in club path. You don't simply drop your arms like that. Sure you'll go in to out but now your swing is shit. What you need to do is add lag to your swing and stop letting your arms get ahead of your hip rotation. I have been holding for like 5 months and I know this. This seems like real amateur stuff here.
