I was a young kid gangster robbing cars when that went down. I knew the Robert's lounge which was Jimmy's place. It was near a place I later worked at in Queens. you brought back a lot of memories.

I just found out about you today through your Vanity Fair video and I finally know what I’m gonna get for my uncle for Christmas. He loves crime novels, he’s always in the middle of one, but I know nothing about the genre so I was just gonna get him the latest James Paterson or something and hope for the best but I know for sure he’s gonna love this book and have a mancrush on the life you’ve lived when he finishes it. He’s also Italian, loves gambling, has a friend named Tony who’s pretty fat and hinted a couple of times over the years that he was friends with some “connected” dudes in the 80s and 90s - I don’t know if there’s ever been enough “connected dudes” here in Melbourne, Australia to make it believable that he was friends with any, but either way I’m getting Kris Kringle brownie points this year! Thanks for sharing how you changed your life so much - there’s so many things I want to change about myself and learning about you reminds me it can be done :)

I grew up in Brentwood on Long Island these stories bring back a lot of memories. You remind me of my uncle who was into some book making and clearly other stuff because he always had nice cars and jewelry. But I only saw him at family get togethers and funerals. A lot of crazy stuff was going on back in the 80s and 90s and I don't think we'll ever see a world like this again. Especially after 9/11. You can tell since you're such a good story teller that you've had to tell these stories a million times. Documenting it was the perfect idea so you can tell them the way you would in person and everyone can enjoy that experience. Thank you for sharing your story
