I remember getting busted for "receiving and concealing stolen property, more than $1,000, less than $20,000. I had a felony warrant out. I got arrested at work because some douche broke into my work and they looked up my record. I spent 6 days in D-Block in my county jail (basically 20 bunks with a bunch of drug addicts, waiting to talk to the judge). Luckily, the other party made a plea deal and dropped it down to a misdemeanor if I plead no-contest, which I did. I got non-reporting probation for a year and my record was expunged. I paid maybe $2k in restitution. I was 21. I'm 36 now and live a clean and "normal", sometimes reclusive, life. Thank you for your story, my friend.

I mean, it's normal. I do remember stuff happened when i was 3yo yet i do not remember everything that happened yesterday. Why? Because when i was 3yo i had a really bad moment, but yesterday what happened? Nothing special. Do i really need to explain this? No, Ross in Ontario, you do no need to be intelligent to remember stuff happened a long time ago, no Grinch 3255, you do not need to invent stories to- err- you... i mean, it's totally possible to remember stuff happened 20 years ago.

I’m glad you included an explanation on the statutory rape charge. I did 3 years in TDC and I knew a guy that was convicted and sent down for 10 years. He had a 16 year old girlfriend and he was 17, she ended up getting pregnant and when she had the baby, a nurse noticed the 1 year age difference between the 2. They had been seeing one another for a few months and both of their families knew about the relationship. Anyway, to make a long story short, the nurse reported him to to the police, the age of consent in Texas is 17. He got 10 years and will have his name attached to that his whole life.

@karozans
@karozans 3 жыл бұрын
@@darnleynyirenda8304 It SHOULD be to reform people. 96% of people in prison do not get life sentences and are released back into the public. When you treat small time criminals like animals, you turn them into predatory beasts who now have hate and contempt in their hearts for everyone. If they have felony charges, they will never get a job again. So crime is their only option when they get out. You think you are doing the world a favor, but you are only sh66ting yourself in the foot by doing this. This is why in the USA there is a 70% recidivism rate. I don't agree with the way the do everything in Norway, but in Norway they are doing some things correctly. Mainly they don't treat the inmates like animals. They allow the inmates to work, and be participants in society. In Norway, they have a 16% recidivism rate and virtually no crime.

Great Awakening easy for you to say not being convicted of a crime you didn’t do, many people in prison are wrongfully there.

@Great Awakening you really are ignorant arent you? You didn't do a single google search to find out the problem is well known and wide spread? Do you just have this idyllic idea in your head of "due process" (which doesnt mean what you seem to think it means, by the way) and reject reality? I'd like to know what you define as "many." Maybe you should listen to the channel you're watching and not be an ignorant douchebag.

Larry is like one of those grandfathers that tells war stories and we all love to hear them

My grandfather, basically my dad since mine was absent, was a Vietnam vet. He probably only takes about that around me maybe 3× and it wasn't even stories, just minor details. He was so humble he never even wore "Vietnam veteran" hats or the license plate. He said he just wanted to forget about it, that it was the biggest waste of his life. He died in 2012 at 65 due to complications from agenda orange. RIP GRANDFATHER.

@@Secter84 reminds me of my great grandfather. He was a WW2 vet and as a result suffered from severe PTSD for the rest of his life. He didnt talk about it at all until he was in his 70s from what i heard. He once had to had to go to Buchenwald concentration camp to act as a witness and when I asked about it all he would all he could say was "it was the worst thing Ive ever seen" then shook his head then blankly stared at the ground. War is hell.
