Turning rust into Gold: Inner wing Transformation

How long did it take? Find out in the video.
Started a bit of the welding this week on the project t4. Started with the right inner wing repair which is a common place for rust on these older vans, caused by a build up of debris, leaf's and soil over the years, and a foam surround which holds water and collects moss, these combined are fatal for any metal over the decades.
I made some templates, transferred onto metal, cut them out, cut out the rust from the van, and then welded in the new fresh metal.

Thank you 🙏 it’s hard to put a price on jobs until it’s been done because you don’t really know how bad the rust is until you start cleaning up the area getting it back to clean metal. I think in this instance for this repair I would charge around £300

Hi Twiggs just wanted pick your brains as I know u had engine out your t4 acv mine same as yours I need change aux tensioner on mine as have noise and guys at Vw connections in Cornwall changed my cambelt water pump fuel pump drive belts recently while we on holiday they said need get top engine mount out jack engine up of course slightly to take weight do u need undo drive shafts u think driver side ?one guy said he did on his it’s 2.5tdi acv mine has 340000 miles on I have spare engine and it’s only 107k was hoping use aux tensioner off that u think be ok ?or use new one 😊
