Tech 1 in both Halo wars one and two are about map control. Too many players worry about going double gen when quantity beats quality. If infantry is meant to be the majority of your population, then the rest are supportive roles. Unfortunately, this is easier said than done because you are on a timer. Allowing your opponent to mass spam hogs or tanks puts you at a disadvantage, but I still think it is the more practical approach. Take Arcadia for example, everyone that plays that mission goes tech, but it is hogs and infantry that allow you map control as you build 30 units compared to 10 or 15. This is the only realistic way to save 1000 civilians.

Yea true but everything has a counter even tech 1 infantry. I could spam choppers or ghost and have them ram your infantry or hero into oblivion. But that has its on counter to because they do almost no base damage and can't capture points unless your Shipmaster and I forgot who else.

@wisemanchronicles9698 Too many players focus on counters. It is actually more complicated than that. For example, I can build 4 flamethrowers and 2 marines within a minute for less supplies than 3 choppers. Which would also take you more than a minute out of a single structure. Besides, I'm not saying to build nothing but infantry. Infantry is just the front line in all stages of the game. Scouts lose their effectiveness in tech 2. Infantry is the structure of every army composition. Another good example is having 4 fully upgraded supply pads are enough to produce 2 marines, 2 cyclops, a wolverine, and a tank. If you compare that to other common productions like tanks or hornets you will notice that you can only build 2 tanks or 4 hornets for the same resource and twice the production time if out of a single airpad or garage. The " Cutter drop" is not only more effective than the other two, but you produced almost twice the population in half the time. All of this is heavily effected by multitasking. If you can't keep up with what's happening, then a mass spam of tanks will obviously win, but I guess that's what superweapons are for.

i miss all the other objectives that weren't just power nodes all over the HW1 maps. can you imagine a neutral mega turret on a small ahh hw2 map??

This is how toxic the halo wars two community is. I have played three games today in the past four years so I’m a little rusty and I have gotten to hate me saying how bad I was. Why the hell does these little kids feel the need to put somebody down that it’s just trying to get back into the game. I was pretty decent back in the day, but I’m still trying to get used to the controls again and I get these little kids here saying stuff like that it makes the game not fun and it is a fun game but the community is garbage saying stuff like that.
