Great video. I also made a series on incremental tweaks to my system with the intention of pushing down the noise floor. It has been one of the most effective improvements to the sound of my system. More 3 dimensional sound field, more resolved placement of singers and instruments. My advice to others is start at the mains supply and work up the chain, improving the quality of components. You don’t need to spend a fortune for noticeable improvements.

Although I’m not always sure about all your mods I would just like to say I always enjoy it when I see a new video posted. As the X10D runs on AC I would imagine there's very little inside pinkie PSU, possibly a slightly better transformer but that’s about it with a higher current rating.

No. There is quite a bit inside -- including tubes and things.

I think the Musical Fidelity X-10 buffer supplies defiantly works and yields a warmer, less harsh sound. I have an X-10 V3 (similar but sits in a square box) with a similar power supply. I am pairing with a new Audiolab 6000 CD Transport and an old (25 years) but still superb MSB DAC Link 3 (with the Nelson Upgrade) with a separate power supply. I am listening to Wagner Parsifal now, and Victory at Sea.,

Alan shaw the designer of harbeth would disagree. He as always used gerneric parts in his speakers. Good circuit design is all that matters he said. He said theres no point paying extra for boutique parts. He as put boutique parts in his anniversary speakers because of pressure and said some people would not buy them unless he was willing to do it. He did it to satisfy the audio fools. Its all extra business for him . I tend to agree with his honest opinion.

Hi Ian sounds to me (excuse the pun ) a worthwhile investment , also I didn’t realise you had the quad vena in your system . Would be nice some time if you can give your thoughts on that particular model for the quad range .

Will the MF-X10D also work with a digital streamer? To be exact the Bluesound node 2i. Can it have the same effect as on a cd player?

Hello, I haven't tried it on a streamer, but I can't see why it wouldn't work, thanks for commenting & watching 👍

Better parts equal better sound , hifi components are made to a budget , 300 pound amp would have very cheap parts inside .
