Going of of Haz comments: I think what makes Tweek talk really interesting is that every cast member bring something to the table. - Charles is the technical guy, super knowledgeable and friendly with some insight into E-Sports. - Pink is the bro of the group, the chill guy that drop massive bomb of knowledge every now and then because of his experience. Hes like the old sage of the group. - Tweek is the heart of the show, hes the emotion, hes the athlete we follow and like to go thru his up and down. We live tournaments thru him. - Haz is the glue. Hes got the super power of making everyone around him better. He always bring what is missing, hes super adaptable, he also has the best voice.

This was a great week for Smash from Shadic's W, the insane run Peabnut did beating Japan's best, to Muteace being a reverse 3-0 God and so much more. Cirque was a great event. ALSO Bonito Harbor had GOATED Sparg0 ve MKLeo sets so shoutouts to Sparg0at for taking that!

Miya did try Gnw vs Light one game and it got destroyed so he went back on Steve. Lights been learning those hard matchups and it’s great to see it pay off. Good to hear Miya was having a good time playing with the NA players this weekend though. It’s been a bit rough rn but I’m sure he’ll be fine.

Remember the episode when Tweek was like “Foot stool OOS is overrated, …Players can play around it and punish you for trying it” Now we’re seeing that Footstool OOS is more than an aggressive option, you can simply use it to get out of disadvantage by disengaging. For example with Joker, yes you can gun oos but if you don’t feel safe doing that at a time, you can simple get to safety by doing it

I believe the point then was that FS combos as a win condition are really unreliable, since it's fairly easy to play around fs and if you are just shielding a lot fishing for fs you have way less control over positioning. But fs as an option that is a nice bonus but not vital for your win is great. Like Steve doesn't really on fs anvil, but it can add to the mental stack of the opponent, whilst the Steve player doesn't have to be as worried. I think the same applies for disengaging with fs probably. You do burn your dj, but it's a calculated risk.

I agree. The baseline for Pika was ridiculously powerful but never pushed past its peak as time went on. That Mexican tournament where Shinymark was relying on tjolt/quickattack camping, if that's the best case scenario for Pikachu then he's likely not gonna see much top level play.

21:57 I get what y'all are saying, but... 1. Corrin is obviously much better than Byleth. 2. It's not just one rep proving Corrin's dominance. Byleth only had one good rep at majors in MKLeo. Corrin has MKLeo, Ly, Shadic, Neo, and now Sparg0. 3. Byleth never took 3 spots in an S tier tournament, but Corrin did in Genesis X (Neo, Shadic, and Sparg0 [secondary]). 4. Aegis was said to be the pick against meta characters like Sonic and Steve but she has fallen off pretty badly in that regard. Sparg0 switched from Aegis to Corrin for the harder MUs and is seeing better results despite Sonix's experience. Yes they go back and forth, but Sparg0's Aegis was getting SHUT DOWN and hard read later on. Why else did Sparg0 switch? If the Aegis was so good, MKLeo and Sparg0 would not have switched off. 5. Going back to point 2 and 3, Corrin has better results than Aegis now. Compare her results of the last 2-3 years to Corrin's and its obvious. Corrin is ahead and she gradually gets better. 6. Aegis might seem better on paper but we are freaking humans. That inconsistent recovery is THAT detrimental for Aegis. There are so many times when she is winning but then she just loses. Sparg0 vs. MKLeo at Mainstage is a great example of this. Her recovery is so linear that top players are starting to smite her easily. Corrin has the strengths of top tiers whilst having a WAY better recovery that she can actually mix up. Not many characters can wall Corrin off easily offstage (not even Steve).

When will people accept that Aegis is not that good for whatever reason, yes she's overtuned and has some of the best tools out there, broken mechanics and all around great stuff, yet, not a single pro player has the results that they expect for a character "that good", there must be something on her kit that makes her not work because how come the closes thing we have to a consistent player that mains Aegis at the top is Shutton, who often plays olimar as well. Most of the top players that use Aegis only pick her up for certain matchups and a lot of the time, lose anyway, I also want to point out that the pro players who keep voicing their lack of faith in the characters are mainly those who have tried to main her at some point, people like MkLeo for example, hell, sparg0's now using corrin to fight sonic, instead of aegis. The PaM dream is dead and you gotta accept that at some point.

I really think it's the same problem Chrom has, just to a lesser degree. Chrom would be a top 20 - top 10 character if his recovery wasn't so awful. Aegis recovery is really bad and gets exploited a lot.

So Charles was talking about Voids conversions and edge guards that he doesn't see top Aegis players doing. I'm not really sure that means anything. Void's optimizations might be really good, but I don't think stuff like that pushes a character beyond the optimizations of other characters, if that makes sense. Like Joker has a lot of optimization to do as well, that Void has also implemented funnily enough. Same with characters like Pikachu and even Wolf.

MuteAce had it for MAR10 but then that SD...he's still the winner in my opinion considering he clutched several demons that generally make it past him and avoided some MUs as a result that are usually hopeless. But what made me unconditionally root for him here was that toxic Steve match. That was one of the most infuriating things I've ever seen - really demonstrates the worst unbalanced aspects of Smash Ultimate. Who knows if Mute's hands will survive but that's 2 years in a row now that he was inches away from a #1. I can't think of anybody that has put in more effort than him considering time invested and the skill required of the character involved.

Yeah I think people definitely overestimated how good aegis was in the beginning. That recovery really hurts them and so many overlooked that.

I didn't want to be that guy but.....yeah I agree😂. I think Corrin is a much more rounded character. She may lose to aegis in the stats department but her moves make up for it.

Yeah Corrin is definitely better. Better recovery and yet she has the strengths of other top tier sword characters like Aegis. She is also very oppressive when it comes to frame traps and juggling. Her dash shield being frame 7 also helps her deal with projectile characters. Even Yaura (best Samus) got 3 stocked twice by Shadic's Corrin, and Samus is Corrin's worst MU. Corrin is a top tier. I think people are traumatized by World Tour but forgot that Aegis was nerfed afterwards. Aegis is gonna become another Shulk. Everyone saying she is top 10 but as the months go on, her results will not prove that.

I couldn't believe my ears when I heard people complaining about Acola skipping Genesis. Any other good player who's Acola's age can chill for a month or two, not enter much and nobody will think anything of it. And that's the correct mindset. Why is it not being applied universally? "I'm gonna stay in my fort in Japan." I don't think he was trying to be mean. But that fact in itself shows how much bias is rooted itself in NA's mindset.

Yeah, a lot of the people saying they were "Day 1" Corrin are self reporting that they didn't play Day 1 Corrin. Doc, Ganon and Mac had comparable, if not, better recoveries than day 1 Corrin. Your other points on Corrin ring true as well, but I don't think people realize how truly abysmal that recovery was. It was worse than prepatch Diddy Kong recovery, and that too, was awful. I understand believing in the character now, but Corrin was probably low end of mid tier on release.

Rankings are a bit of a mess. Outside Acola and Sonix, Sparg0 has taken losses to Zomba and Leo. Yet to win anything. Miya has a major and a Supermajor under his belt, as well as second at Lit, but he took some losses at Genesis and cirque. Gluto has taken a lot of losses, and his placements don't say top 5 to me. Sure Zomba had an amazing Genesis, but he took a lot of losses at Lit, and didnt do that good in Japan or at Cirque. Leo, Light, shadic and tweek have all picked up majors. Idk it's messy

Corrin is overrated. It’s byleth all over again. Leo won tons of majors with byleth because nobody knew how to fight byleth. Then people learned, and now he can’t win anything with byleth. People just gotta learn how to fight Corrin and the same will happen. Corrin is slow, and her projectile is ass. Use a fast rush down, or a zoner, and then learn actual counter play, and she’s pretty easy to beat.
