One important sonic buff was to up air. It's crazy how much damage Sonix can get off of one stray up air, especially for a character with such an oppressive neutral.

Upair buff wasn't anything special and the combo game was pretty much the same before on majority of characters. They bascially just made the hitbox of the second hit slightly bigger towards the ground. Before the buff the hitbox ended just below his eyes, after the buff it was just above his eyes.

Imo, Pikachu nor Zss are the most mobile characters. Sonic is. He can be anywhere in an instant, has several vertical mobility options with up b or spins. It's insane.

4:37 I definitely do think this is a skill that takes a lot of matchup experience to get. As a hero main it's very very obvious when my opponent isn't used to reading the menu, and vice versa when I'm fighting steve and don't pay attention to his mats I get absolutely destroyed lol. The interesting thing about it is even if the opponent is experienced and quick at reading the menu, the hero ultimately has faster comprehension given they know when it'll be active. It's a fun little metagame to practice. I've found it odd they don't have similar HuD elements for other characters. Olimar is an especially egregious example.

Totally totally agree with tweek on liking modern Yu-Gi-Oh!! There's so much more interaction than there was when it was "set a monster, set 2, pass" or "I set up a towers-like monster and pass, better have a Kaiju."

Have you played over the table or only online? I legitimately quit after realizing that waiting 10-15 minutes for my opponent to win turn 1 while I literally cant do anything is a standard thing. ONline goes faster which makes it a little bit more tolerable

The thing is, unless you totally brick your opening hand, you have points of interaction with basically every competent deck in the game, so you shouldn't just be waiting for your opponent to combo off to high heaven. Ever since POTE, with not too many exceptions, ygo has had some amazing formats (until snake eye but baron and borrelend were just banned so we'll see)

3:10 It's so nice to hear that you guys also play YGO, but also have played GOAT and Edison formats! Modern is just too powercrept for me to enjoy. Whether it is TCG, Master Duel or Duel Links, games feel decided to easily either by who goes First or who draws better in their opening hand. Rush Duels are like the only "Modern" Format that I am invested into. It's very simple but actually interactive.

Ppl really need to stop acting like the theoretical punish game for Steve is realistic. There is an entire laundry list of characters that were 'supposed' to have free 80% or ToDs all over the place. If the character isn't unpopular, and it still hasn't materialized then it won't. He isn't that guy.
