Great video! I wish I knew about this a few weeks ago. I just had my final presentation last week. Also just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. They’ve been life savers the last few years, and now I’m graduating architecture school :)

5:30 I feel that not enough emphasis was given on this point. Be aware that if you choose the "Collapse by material" option. You wont have the flexability to assign different materials (or material atributes such as orientation and scale) to individual elements. For your first try at this application, bring in two identical models using each of the first two options and have a quick try at assigning materials to each respective model. bring in two instances of the Autodesk Sample house in revit and you'll know what i mean.

Ive been using Twinmotion for 2 years now, and it really is a very powerfull option to real time rendering. There's only one problem with Twinmotion that I can't seem to figure out, and so I have to work my way around it: When you export your model, you have to put some walls with different materials in Revit, 'cause if you don't you'll have some serious headaches. When you don't, if you have two walls with the same configurations, for example, Revit will make it so they are the same. Now, that's not really the problem...the problem is when it happens with a single wall, but it's faces. Let's say you made a wall to separate the living room from a bedroom, but it's faces are both white paint as a material. Now, if export it to TWM and try to change it's material to whatever, the other face will do the same. Even if you chose to aply to objects only. That's the most annoying issue I have with TWM. Other than that, it's an almost perfect software, for what it does. Keep up the great work. Cheers from Brazil!

There's a way around this... With twinmotion 2021.1, you can export your work from revit via 2 decent ways: 1. Direct link 2. Datasmith Personally now I use datasmith as it allows me perform a live sync. Then make sure you apply different materials on your walls if you intend to use different materials in twinmotion for those walls. Lastly when importing into TM, you can collapse by material if you have different materials for various items or collapse my hierarchy if walls have different nomenclature.
@Shirryon3 жыл бұрын
@@don_specialfx2632 That's what I do...the problem is exactly having to apply different materials to different walls. TWM doesn't separate faces of a same wall if we don't do this...and it's annoying af
@yassern3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the only workaround I found for this problem is assigning different materials in Revit. I think that's because Twinmotion treat any material as just one, no matter where it's applied. That's a good thing in some scenarios, and a headache in most cases... So I figured it's just easier to solve it in Revit. In one project, I had to create more than 50 different wall paint materials in Revit just to avoid any confusion in TWM... Go figure :D

There's the use of datasmith. This is very useful and I use it as a sync. This way I can easily update the model both in twinmotion without disrupting anything.

Recently I installed twinmotion, after using lumion and enscape. I found twinmotion better and now epicgames have acquired twinmotion, I feel it will bypass all other realtime render softwares soon. I request you to kindly explore this software more , and enlighten us as you do with your revit tutorials.

Very interesting. Thanks. 🤩. Which one is the best Lumion or v ray or twin motion for presentation?. Yes animation to show.
@thesunfromwest3 жыл бұрын
That really depends. Twinmotion renders are not as realistic (but they are decent) as Lumions but it's relatively a much lighter software for your PC or laptop to handle.

Hi.. I have just started to learn Revit and looking for a rendering SW to use on my laptop. better if it is easy to use also. can anyone suggest one? Is blender good software? if so it will be ideal for me as it is free.
@prmodrwt3 жыл бұрын
Blender is free but have steep learning curve. From my experience as a learner, you start with revit+enscape (easy). Then learn revit+twinmotion. Lumion is also good but twinmotion have bright future . Learn blender if you wish, it is underrated software as it is free. It is too vast in its use.
@don_specialfx26323 жыл бұрын
@@prmodrwt PERFECT! Exactly how I did it. Just to add, with twinmotion, you can now sync with Unreal Engine which means u can learn unreal for a higher level take. Blender should be last!

Do we need a pluggin to export a proyect of revit 2020 to twinmotion 2021? or only with exporting the project to FBX model I can work on Twin 2021?

There's a Twinmotion plugin for Revit you can install for a direct link. Works similar to Lumion sync.
