After all these years, I still get chills when I hear this song ❤️ 💚 💙 💜 Couple Fun Facts: They got their name from some black marines who saw them perform as the “Paramours” in 1963 & they shouted, “that was righteous brothers!” Also, Cher was part of the backing vocals, & last but not least, heir manager booked them into a black nightclub in Watts, California before they got big, & the patrons of the club started throwing things at them on stage when they saw they were white, & The Righteous Brothers didn't know what to do, so they just started singing, & all the patrons sat down with their mouths open, & wouldn't let them leave after that, & the term, Blue Eyed Soul, was introduced 😃 👓 👓 😃

@sandyleewhite THANK YOU! SOMEBODY who knows the real story! WE'VE got some MORON on here saying thry were THROWN together AS a last minute act and given the name of the righteous brothers BY A BACK PASSERBY in the parking lot who was also a musician on his way to the state. AS IF there was never any history of the original OR revamping of OR breakup of the Paramours as a band where they got together medically. OH and they left the whole other club AND THE U.S. MARINES OUT ALSO. YUP it's all just happenstance ...like their whole musical life was a miracle of a wannabe talent show with a frazzled backstage manager yk? I've heard other disjointed versions but never one THAT bizarre! You are the only one on here to post the full story. Thanks and oh yeah Cher TOO! WOOHOO!!!

Um this is not the forum for you misinformed fuckery. But thank you and hold this Blue-eyed soul (also known as white soul) is rhythm and blues and soul music performed by white artists. The term was coined in the mid-1960s, to describe white artists who performed soul and R&B that was similar to the music of the Motown and Stax record labels.

I'm so happy when Folks like you discover these Songs. This was Written by Barry Mann & Cynthia Weil who are the longest Running Married Songwriting Team in Pop Music. This was Produced by Phil Spector who was the First Superstar Record Producer If you can also listen to their Follow Up "Soul & Inspiration." The Show they are performing on is called Shindig which was one of Many Rock & Roll Shows Artists did before Music Videos. The Men on The Right are The Wellingtons and the Ladies are The Blossoms who sang backup for folks who visited the Show. The Ladies were The Dancers who worked with everyone from Jackie Wilson to James Brown. It is also next to Stairway To Heaven by Led Zeppelin the most played Song in the History of Radio. They aren't brothers mind you. They got their name when they were performing at Navy Bases and the audience that had mostly Black Sailors would clap and say "That's Righteous Brothers".

You see them in Black and White Video before a lot of TV was in Color. These guys turned the ladies of all races into instant fans. They were as big as Elvis. I am now 76 years old boy from Utah who loves this kind of music. In high school in the early 60's I even had my own 12 piece dance band so I was excited about this type of music. There is a lot of songs from that time I think you would love. Keep doing the good review work!

The beautiful thing with music is it has no colour (color to you lol, I'm English) or age ...good music is good music, it don't matter what your race , age or religion is... music brings us all together

Ahhh, another Righteous Brothers song. Love this song as well!! I love your reaction to this song just on the merits of what you hear. I hope someday everyone will be as one. At the end of the day, skin color is irrelevant. What matters is what’s in one’s heart. I’m 59 years old. When I was a little girl, my mom always told me, “Cindy, love and respect everyone you meet until they prove otherwise to you. We all bleed red.” I’ve held that value my whole life. My momma was a wonderful kind woman who loved life and all the people she met. She made sure that she taught me what is truly important in life. She was a single mom in the 60’s with 3 kids, but wanted to teach all of us the values that her mother and father instilled in her. RIP momma, I miss you more than you can imagine. I’m really enjoying your channel. You’re a breath of fresh air. God Bless you and yours 🙏

You, my friend, have been introduced to Phil Spector's "Wall of Sound", multiple instruments playing the same track, creating that massive sound you hear in this song. I'm discovering your channel tonight, a 47 year-old woman from Québec, and I got to say that I'm enjoying it a lot!! Thanks!

What I like about this channel, above and beyond watching young folk enjoy music from the ages, is that there's just such good listening (and singing my heart out) music. But it's so fun to watch the young person's reactions I'm having trouble leaving my chair!

TwinsthenewTrend, kudos to you for listening to music - M-U-S-I-C ; ) I remember being about 13 or 14 with my older brother(19 or 20) running up to our 3rd floor apt turning on the radio - and said, "listen!" At the time we had one "colored" radio station, this here in Mass, and of course like you we're (me and my sis) are going crazy loving it and then my brother is, "their white", now in those days there was mix doo-wop groups - this hear a whole new individual sound from talented singers. I am now 72 yrs old...a singer and I love that you love music. I cannot live without music, this world cannot live without music - keep up the good energy. Please, pretty please do THEE best song ever - Heat Wave Martha Reeves and The Vandellas. I was 16 first time away from home - I mean away, in N.J. turnng 16 feeling down (I was shy etc) this song came out, whew!, listen to the groove that band is in - while Martha...all these years, that song cannot be beat. As you would say, "stand up!!" can't help but move. Hope you get to it!! Peace, light and love ~

Don’t know how you ended up in my feed, but I’m glad you did. I love all kinds of music and I appreciate vocal talent. I’m a 53 year old black woman. When I was little, I heard mostly R&B in my home and we watched Soul Train every Saturday. My grandparents, however, moved upstate NY when I was very young. When I stayed with them, I heard top 100 and country music on the radio and we watched He Haw regularly. My father’s tastes then turned to jazz and the the masters and I was exposed to Sarah Vaughn, and Ella Fitzgerald and Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett. I LOVE that you’re exposing yourselves to all different types of music and it warms my heart that so many are supporting and encouraging you. I’ve subscribed to your channel. 🙂

I couldn't love you more than if you were my own sons!!! I wish my sons were as willing to try out some of my music from back in the day. Can I adopt you? I am 61 years old and I just love hearing the music of my youth and seeing today's youth reacting so honestly to the music. Watching your channel makes me feel young again! Thank you for that! You are so real and so genuine, your mom must be so proud of you. I can't remember how I stumbled upon your channel, but, was just reintroduced to it today while searching for a video that Stephen Colbert did with Dolly Parton. She was on his show last night, Oct. 20, 2020 & they talked about their duet. (Still haven't found it.) In the search, Dolly's song "Jolene" came up in a list of videos to search and your reaction video was one of them. I was like, "Hey! I remember these guys!" I thought I had subscribed to your channel but I hadn't, so, I did tonight and I clicked the bell so I can get notices of your new stuff. So, I watched that video on my way to work. LOVED you and your brother's reactions to Ms. Dolly. She's amazing, isn't she? Do some more of her music. You won't be sorry. I plan to go back and start at the beginning of your videos. Looking forward to seeing how you started and how you've grown. You truly are, as so many others have said, such a balm for my bruised heart and a salve for my soul in this horrible time. The closer we get to the election, the more anxious and worried I get. Watching your videos is going to help me get through. I laugh, I cry, I just feel better after watching one of your videos. I just want to hug you both!!! Just wish I had found you back in January when things first started to go off rails with this pandemic and our government's abject failure to keep it's citizens safe knocked me flat. Take care. Love you two wonderful young men! 👏😍👍😘✌ P.S. Question...have y'all ever done Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven"? If not, you should.
