Yep. I spent one summer in high school stoned and mollywhopping RE5 with my older brother. Running through all difficulties, rapaciously snatching gems, and getting the Jill and Wesker 1 fights down to a science. All we could do since it was 1000 degrees outside. The inventory is a little weird but once you meet Sheva your co-op partner can manage their own inventory from what I remember. It looks like the boys didn't put that together.

So, I actually unironically love RE5. I think it's MECHANICALLY better than 4, with updated controls and some new moves. And I love to play it co-op with my grilfriend. Not saying it's the best RE game, RE4 has better characters and general campaign. But I really enjoy every playthrough of 5.

I actually like 6 more than 5 and feel 6 gets a lot more hate than it deserves. 5 isn't necessarily "bad" to me, but rather that it seemed to lack a lot more originality given that, aside from Wesker, the three Uroboros bosses, and the Reapers, everything was just reused Las Plagas models (Majini, Irving, Ndesu, etc.) with only Popokarimu (the half bat-half bug sub-boss) and U-8 (the giant crab) being brand new creature designs, while also making Wesker go out like, as Chris himself states during the final boss fight against him, a comic book villain. Heck, the guys even make fun of the opening part of the game because it plays almost exactly like RE4 (only without an immediate attack).

When I was playing through RE5 with my brother, the loadout we go for is this: Brother: Pistol and shotgun Me:Machine gun (specifically the machine pistol since it has critical upgrades and highest ammo capacity), sniper (the semiauto one), and magnum That way we don't have to worry about sharing ammo. Unfortunately, I highly doubt that the Super Best Friends will do anything like this.

Here's a tip for the SBFP duo: to do the full melee combo, 1) shoot target in the arm, 2) melee strike from the front (you know you're doing it right if it only pushes the target back instead of knocking him to the ground), 3) have partner melee from behind the target, 4) initial player melee from the front for the final hit. Keep in mind that you can do this from any direction as long as it isn't two melees from a single direction. For the instant kill melee, 1) shoot target in the knees (they cannot be kneeling), 2) melee from behind.

Actually I found in Co-op it's pretty managable, even not using the guns, you can knife-melee heads and knees, then your partner runs in to go for the goes for the big 'quicktime' hits. if you funnel the zambambos down that small alley you can stagger and knckback the ones behind them too. It's a slog, but it can be done before NG+.

Legit I didn't even know this playthrough existed. My friend got me into RE5 like a year ago. We were looking for a coop game to play and I kept mentioning how RE5 has coop. He would always be like " Oh yeah, it does" Then one day he decided he's had enough of me mentioning it and we are playing it. Was actually a lot of fun. I did another playthrough in 3 hours, then got the infinite rocket launcher, and then me and him went through on hard mode, and we happened to beat it under 3 hours so he got the infinite rocket launcher as well. We then went on to RE6, kind of eh, but we just came back to RE5 and are doing it on profesional mode, getting one shot by everything, and one shotting everything.

Paulo Penado yeah man, I'm a long time Resi fan, but me and my best friend put HOURS Into the game , it's got a lot of replay value going through all the difficulties , collecting the treasure , doing the mercenaries and every thing , I'm not saying it's my favorite in the series that's between 2 and 4 but 5 is the one I played the most
