My guess is either sunk cost or fear of having to "start over" (like how that one friend spent her own money upgrading Bobby brown until he met her standards or Monique's hobosexual charector) (as if taking a break from dating or being single aren't legitimate alternatives to staying with an untrustworthy partner 🙄). I am so mad because this movie was like my woman bible as a 10 year old on how to get a boyfriend. Everything she said I learned to do as soon as possible before finally just learning to be myself. Some of the skills are nice (Knowing how to cook and conversate are really helpful as an adult) but wow looking back on this is very alarming. Its still a fun movie and I really need to see the sequel!?!?!

I don't know Connie was pretty handsy in that scene, but to be fair Keith is single at this point so she might just be hella aggressive and assumes that all men want is sex and the quicker you give it the quicker they can be together. Hell that was basically one of Shante's rules as well.

I loved that movie , I don't think that Shantae was "jealous" of Connie , she's a smart one and knew that Connie was the dangerous untrustworthy type who's willing to go after married men and men who already have girlfriends if it means it would benefit her in any way. Let's be honest , no matter how cool and accepting anyone can try to be , they wouldn't consider being friends with someone like Connie because she's just there waiting for a chance to stab you in the back .

this movie make me think of "girlfriend" despite being so enjoyable and funny to watch ( monstly 2000's nostalgia) there a lack of depth, unjustify terrible event happening to the girl, there a real mockery tone in the jokes and lesson that these women are made to learn, withtout taking in account how they were raise to behave like that and that these men are truly terrible. There all these the gold digger/ Loud girl/ Slut / Superficial/ Overbearing/ Dumd/ shaming without taking the men accountable and only slapping there hand, saying it's not nice but men will be men you know .... I really wish we had a "sex and the city " for POC women that keep the glam and high fashion and stop letting these woman clinging to terrible men. I like the idea of 1 episode one lesson to learn about men/frienship/work etc... But without making a fool out of the girl. (where girlfriend failed and not SATC)

Honestly, Shante did not deserve Keith, considering she did too much in that relationship, like she was one of those girls who believes any girl who's close to her boyfriend are his side chicks. Plus, I wish at least one of her friends like Tracy had called her out for her foolishness of manipulating Keith to "beg for her forgiveness", since Tracy herself probably gone through that in the past. I totally believe that girl Keith was with was a childhood friend or something, considering the way he danced with her, and Shante was a terrible friend. Now Keith was messed up for not explaining himself to Shante about the girl he danced with, but I think that there has to be a good reason why he didn't, but still, he could have at least tried. As for his friend (Anthony Anderson), he may have been a little messy for not really caring, but he was right about how Keith should move on. Keith especially should have at least tried to move on from Shante considering the mind games she was playing, not to mention, she was hugging up close on his friend to make him jealous and getting mad at him for being 'with Connie' when she was the one who dumped him.
