This is good news. Glad to know there are more cobblers out there doing great work. Since I transitioned to civilian life after the military for 28yrs, I decided my feet, back, and hips needed quality footwear. After getting a pair of boots resoled and having to trash them because the guy did not know what he was doing, I started searching for videos on resoling boots. That is how I found you guys. When it is time to get a resole, my boots are coming your way. I have seen enough of your videos to know that YOU know what right looks like. Glad you guys had a good trip, some fun, and met great people. Also, it is a legitimate business expense!

Im just a truck driver who got tired of seeing my boots disintegrate on my feet. Started down this rabbit hole not too long ago. What an interesting journey!

Nice video! The interviews were just long enough to get a good feel for what they are all about. I have never had to record in a space with lots of noise like that; I think that the interviews came through pretty well. .

Very nice and thanks for producing this vid. Question for ya, those cobblers that won awards, can you produce a vid. highlighting the aspects that won them their trophies? It would be nice to see your craft’s best practices. Anyway, first time viewer and new subscriber to your site. Jesse

Thanks for subscribing! Unfortunately, the video footage for that weekend was damaged. We filmed a lot. We interviewed each contestant and winner, showing their work and describing their technique. We salvaged this little bit the best we could. We were very disappointed also. Others at the show had similar technical difficulties. We really don’t know what happened

Between this channel and the T&H channel…these cobblers got their video skills right up there with their cobbling 😉…

Will there be another video of all the shoes and boots at the show?
@WyattDadCobblerCompany Жыл бұрын
No. There were technical difficulties with everything. We barely were able to get this much. Other people filming at the show had issues too.

Any video is better than no video. Is there a facebook group for cobblers?
@WyattDadCobblerCompany Жыл бұрын
Thanks! We will have the videos up and running again soon. Moving the business into a 160 year old cabin that’s last updated was 1920 has taken up all our time while maintaining business as usual. We have 4 projects that we believe everyone will enjoy in the works for videos. Thanks for being patient and following us! Yes, there are a couple facebooks groups just for cobblers.

@@WyattDadCobblerCompany I didn't mean it like that lol. I'm just saying if someone doesn't like this video, would they rather have nothing? Like quit complaining and enjoy the content. I for one and looking forward to videos on the cabin. Thanks guys, I appreciate you

Unfortunately, the mics malfunctioned. We worked hard to get what we got out of the videos. We wanted to keep from disappointing all the people interviewed, so we slid this one in.

Whomever you got that edits these Videos is great, just like the way you fix shoes. Tobias do you use the Auto Soler Nailer ?
@WyattDadCobblerCompany Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Nick Wyatt does our editing. The majority (99% or more) of nailing is hand nailed. An auto soler nailer is very seldom used.

Good afternoon! I'm looking for direction, I am a tool and die maker by trade. I also have been doing some leather work in my spare time, wallets, purses, belts, etc. I'm really interested in being a cobbler, so much that it consumes me. Do I just learn the craft on my own? There are very few cobblers or shoe repair stores in my area of Ohio. I've thought about getting in touch with the closet shoe repair store and just offering to work for free to be taught the craft.
@WyattDadCobblerCompany4 ай бұрын
@@riverratkayakfishing8839 unfortunately, there are no schools anymore. So, a few of us cobblers are doing videos on KZbin to help people remotely. We also answer questions via email and messenger to help people learn. Ohio is a state that definitely needs cobblers. If you have one local that will allow you to study under them, you can learn the basics and then hone your skills via the other ways I mentioned. Let us know if we can help
@riverratkayakfishing88394 ай бұрын
@@WyattDadCobblerCompany Thank you very much for the advice! I will reach out to the repair shop and find out if I can learn the craft from them. I appreciate your timely response. Subscribed!!
