How is it that with all the stirring, whacking, peeling, blending, transferring & frying these amazing ladies never seem to splatter or spill on their lovely blouses & tunics? And not a pinny in sight! I’d love to know where they found their clothing: as another fat lady I can attest to the fact that plus size clothing is difficult to find, let alone such stylish & colorful garments. God rest these wonderful women & may their force of character & beautiful spirits live on in those who love them. 💕🙏🏻

Lou Coconut I need to watch it again. I feel so sad even though I know she died. My husband died 6 weeks ago. Grief is weird. I knew he was dying for a year so when it happened. I thought I had accepted it. But I had night horrors for a month. Didn’t matter if it was day or night. They have stopped now and I just feel so depressed. When something happens I just think ..oh I must tell him. After 59 years I can’t get used to it. But I did love Jennifer. That makes me sad.

@@carolynholody9281 Read the biography about her. When Clarissa inherited the 2 million pounds from her mother, apparently she went through all of it at pubs, and paying for the affection of men. She was a sex addict, but also got denied a lot by the men. Surely money can't by EVERYthing. 🙂

I adore the 2. This kind of cooking is divine. The way they present it : it's light, it's entertaining. Something else : NO " wash your hands, don't blow your nose without washing your hands afterwards......" We all know to be hygienic ! This cooking is real, natural cooking, all handmade, only knives, forks, hands are used, like my wonderful mother in law did. Jennifer and Clarissa take their time, it's so relaxing watching them. There are hardly people ,who celebrate this kind of cooking. She said it once about " spotless clean hands " 😅

Though Clarissa & Jennifer were quintessentially English/British I think that was probably the first time recipes for [a version of] Chile rellenos & Apple pandowdy) appeared on British television. They'd led such varied & exciting lives their food encompassed all points of the compass. Just a pity I'm allergic to mustard & not overly fond of hot chilli. Always thought when watching these the first time 'round that the sound editor should be given a good talking to, the sound quality outside is always abysmal.

I love everything about the show except the menus. I mean the dishes they choose for the meal seem so random. If you were planning a dinner party, would you have apple pan dowdy with a Mexican dish and a weird adaptation of beef Wellington? I don't mean that you have to have all of the dishes from the same culture at all, but the flavors and style should complement each other. Like ceviche, chili renenos (sp), lemon or curried chicken and sorbet with tuiles. Fresh, fruity, but filling with a bit of bite and spice.
@Knappa225 жыл бұрын
It’s not a menu for a dinner party. The diners may well be eating these different dishes at the end of the programme but that is only really to show the food in a dining setting. The TFL don’t suggest that the dishes they are cooking form a set menu.
@cyrilpiwetz868010 ай бұрын
Original cooks are hard to find. Besides the motorcycle these chefs were queens. On the other hand, when spatchcocking, it is essential you insert the tip of the knife into the leg/thigh joint and give it a twist, separating them. This juncture is always the last to finish. I wonder whatever happened to the Moto.
