The River Dragons is actually my local team. My understanding is the two are either amateur or semi- professional fighters. They've known each other for a long time and are good friends having trained together and such. They fight almost every game against each other for the fun of it and to put on a good show. I think in total they've fought like 8 or 9 times this season.

Hey! I work for the River Dragons and actually filmed a few of those fights! From what I’m told Joe Pace is a pro wrestler alongside hockey and Justin Schmitt is one of our enforcers and a fan-favorite. They used to play together and know each other pretty well. They like to fight in every game to put on a show for the fans while also seeing who can beat the other in a fight. It’s a respect for each other, for fighting, and brings a little excitement for the crowd. Go River Dragons!

Joe Pace is a good buddy of mine and that man is the #1 entertainer in the FHL. Working on getting more FHL teams setup (including his own). I played hockey for 27 years and had many fights and the best part about a hockey fight is that it doesn’t even hurt. Sometimes your helmet is on (as in one of my leagues you got a lot more penalized if you took off your own helmet) and you don’t feel a thing and even if the helmet comes off you just need to grab the nearest shoulder… this stops them from having the reach to hit your face. Lots of fun

If you like some hockey fights from the FPHL, look at the hat tricks and their game on the 30th, Ruiz got laid out from a dirty hit and what ensued about 10 minutes later was an all-out brawl that saw one player getting immediately ejected. Highly recommend making a video about it.

It kinda takes the excitement out of it when they do it every game and play eachother so often. I can appreciate that when you have 2 fighters on the ice obviously they gotta go but it would get a bit old But I guess it adds to that old saying; I went to a fight and a hockey game broke out

Ok, I'm scoring these 3 fights. Feel free to disagree, let me know what you saw. Fight 1: white jersey wins. Unanimous decision. Fight 2: Black jersey wins with the punch that kneels the other guy. Tko. Fight 3: black jersey by split decision.

A lot of hockey fights don't happen in anger. Most of the time it's just guys looking to pump up a dead home crowd or energize a team down by a few goals. If you watch some mic'd up NHL clips, you can see that they even keep track of it. You'll hear someone say, "Hey? Wanna go? You owe me one."

Columbus's team name use to be the Cottonmouths. Back then it wasn't unheard of for Columbus to have the most penalty minutes for fighting in the league every season. Haven't gotten to go to a game since Columbus got another team. Might need to this weekend! Glad to see they are keeping the old traditions alive lol..
