Fall of the Western Roman empire was undoubtedly one of the most significant events of the west, with much of Europe plunge into centuries of darkness, this song perfectly portrays the wistfulness and perhaps hope that the Romans must of had in the last days of their empire.
@lewistaylor28586 жыл бұрын
the irony is that the Germanic tribes realised the importance of Rome as it had created all this wealth and system of Government along with legions that held it all together. This is why they fought for Rome to maintain it but by Germanising and controlling who was in power in Rome they accidentally brought Rome down from beneath, there was way too much corruption, too many enemies, not enough material to supply the city itself that it could could not recover.

Rome may have fallen, but it succeeded in its mission to civilize the world. A large part of the world now uses its alphabet, its roads, and parts of its language. Even now, one and a half thousand years after its fall, we still talk about this great empire that unified the land from the North Sea to the Persian Gulf. Many of their great feats of architecture still stand today. Their culture, scriptures, and language are still being studied by people in the modern day. The Roman civilization may have been destroyed, but the mark it left on the world will not fade for a very long time.
