At any rate, suffering helped me grow as a person, immensely, and while I don't want people to suffer I also don't want to deprive them of the opportunity to grow. How they grow, or how much, is up to them because people make their own choices. Context: I suffered a great deal as a teenager (honestly, with my chronic ailment[s], I still do), and if I could go back in time I wouldn't change it. It really was important to my personal growth. The person I'd be without it isn't the kind of person I want to be. I don't want folks to suffer to the extent that I did. That would be malicious. But even a little bit of a struggle can be good for you.
