Great video. The ultimate "Take it camping airplane". I chuckled as you said it is not a bush plane as you are flying it in and through bushes.

This is actually one of my favorite planes in my hangar. I fly it all the time. I love that if I get the "gotta fly" itch, I can grab the sus, walk 30 seconds from my home to the school field and just have a blast with it! It does just about anything and is probably the reason I've become a better pilot, I'm not afraid to try things with this plane. I'm going to give it a solid 10/10 and I'm not that generous with most planes. I have 11 planes and I can't think of another I would give that score to.

It's nearly indestructible (under reasonable expectations) and flies so damned good. It's hard to argue with.

GREAT video Jon. Got one. Great Slow Fly Bush Plane. Did the Mod's you suggested plus reinforced the landing gear with light weight wires. The way the old Biplanes reinforce their wings together. Criss Crossing the wires. Minimal weight. Works like a charm.

Your next one should be this one. I'm new too. My dad, who has never flown a rc plane or a sim, bought one, built it, and flies it very well. Though he did learn a lesson about wind, range, and brown outs.😬 I myself, thought these had about a 2km range.....nope. Conservatively

Great video Jon. The way I justify buying any RC Airplane is to see if I can get ONE flight for every DOLLAR spent. I think i could easily get at least 400 flights on this airframe over the period if a few years. For entertainment prices, Really good Bang For the Buck in my mind. Compared that to what you'll spend on Dinner and a movie for two. Which will only give you a few hours of entertainment value. I got over 350 flights on the ERATIX, before I hit a light pole. So it was money well spent. Don't own this one yet, but most likely down the line.

Maidened this at a local park lined with 100' eucalyptus trees, and today out at the field in 10-15 knot gusty winds. This thing is a hoot. And as for price - $169 is ok for a UMX but $199 for this SUS isn't? I have two UMX planes and this SUS is orders of magnitude more capable and way more fun. I guess the UMX planes look cooler, but I don't fly them to look at them. Those who balk at the price are missing out...

I love this plane and I have a lot. I agree, swap esc and battery pack locations. It’s super easy and with the pack at the CG location you can run any size pack you want and it won’t get nose heavy. I run 3s 2200 packs for 15 min flights and it’ll still slow way down with a little AOA. It’s great for FPV too, just strap your gear to the front wing mount and let er rip. I haven’t tried flaperons yet. But 200 bucks? I don’t think that’s a high price at all for this much enjoyment. If you want it cheaper sell the gyro receiver and put a regular receiver on it. I left the gyro on cus I like flying it in crazy wind and it helps with that.

I had a major failure out of the box with mine. The white plastic piece, which holds the tail aluminum body rod to the front, broke twice on me. I fixed it by inserting a carvon fiber square rod and re drilling the holes for the bolts to go through.
@BullFrog965 ай бұрын
I had that same issue but the new version of that piece is much stronger. I believe the two issues HH has fixes for are the gear and that piece. The new one is black so if that joiner is black it’s much stronger than the original white piece but I had the same failure after 1 flight until I replaced that part with the new one.
@jordancalhoun52385 ай бұрын

So, you replaced the landing gear or they now come with better gear? Or did u just mean the Timber wheels?

The gear struts are much stronger now, and we're using Timber wheels to make it flyable in less forgiving areas.

It’s a good price. Awesome plane. Get a few sets of landing gear and a few propellers to keep with you and you can beat it up all day. If you don’t wanna beat it up, learn to properly flare your landing and fly off a smooth runway without 6”+ tall grass and you won’t need any spare parts. And I’m not even a horizon fanboy. Screw those guys, I boycotted them for years due to horrible quality control and customer service. But finally I succumbed because they own pretty much all brands in the hobby now, so boycotting them now pretty much means no hobby. I decided not to deprive myself of fun toys any more when nobody else was joining me in the boycott so it wasn’t even helping anything.
