I enjoy watching you put that Evo thru its paces. You mention you upgraded the servo's. What AGFrc servo's do you recommend? I liked that you shown where and how you placed the Avian 60 amp ESC also that you show stick inputs. Great video👍

What are your AS3X gains? I also can’t seem to figure out the CG. Not sure what you meant with your comment on where you have yours. Also - do you have the plane sit level at that CG or nose down a bit? Mine seems to have some bad tendencies. I don’t fly planes much anymore though, and I’m used to a UMX Yak 55 3D, which has ridiculous 3D ability. Thanks!

Our gains have changed many times - they're based on our AGFRC B11DLS servos via tinyurl.com/B11DLS - the servos the plane ships with can't use the same gains as they wouldn't react the same. The plane sits level at the CG we fly.

What battery were you using for this video? I’m about to buy this plane and I’m looking at 4S 3200mAh 30C packs but I wouldn’t mind moving up in size to get some longer flight times

4s 2200 30c Smart packs, generally. No reason to go any higher - you'll get a few minutes of extra flight time at the expense of adding more weight and reducing its aerobatic potential. Hey Jon I gotta ask if you or anyone else reading this that have the evolution have the same issues. This is my 2nd weekend flying this new bird. And, whats happening is within 2-3 minutes of flying i get a Temp warning. My ESC is getting as high 210 degrees. Last weekend flying it for the first time is when I had the problem it got so hot that the heat melted the glue where the battery sits in the plastic tray. No worries I reglued and continues to fly. New fresh battery and again 180 degrees within 3 minutes of flying. Could it be a bad Esc? Im running a 4000 battery. This weekend I cut a small hole in the bottom of the nose to allow more airflow but still got high temps of 180...

Move the ESC forward and use a 13x4 prop. It'll make the motor more efficient overall and reduce the load on it and the ESC.

Been watching a number of your videos. Nicely done. I apologize if I missed the how-to somewhere. I would like to set up a mix for takeoff with my float planes. Do you have a routine written for setting up a switch that allows me to drop takeoff flaps when I pull at least 10%up elevator? Then after liftoff, switch that mix off and return to normal independent flap and elevator settings?

Does the as3x slow down the roll rate? I have set throws as far as possible and it rolls slow

AS3X doesn't affect roll rate at all. That's influenced by the servo strength and the size of the control surface. Try adding rudder in the direction of the roll and it'll roll faster.

Nej. You'll need a Timber spinner. They're sold under the spare parts for the Timber X. Any 13x4 prop should fit it though.

Nope! It still has clearance unless the water is choppy. You can hold elevator pressure to keep the prop clear.

Hi Jon. I have set up flaperons on my 4-channel jet. I am using an Ar630 receiver. All control surfaces go in the correct direction, however when enabling SAFE the left aileron (AUX 6) is going in the wrong direction. Can I fix this in forwarding programing? I reset the orientation but didn't help. Thanks

You definitely need to reprogram it.

@@TwoBrosRC I figured it out. Under forward programming there is an option called “reconfigure servo input”. Resetting the reciever would have also done the trick also but this method was a little quicker.

@@mr_mysterious_6174 Relearn Servo Settings is basically reprogramming it. You won't get that option if you just unlock the receiver, though. You have to do a full factory reset to re-enable that option on a BnF receiver that you've just unlocked.

@@TwoBrosRC the receiver I have is a new ar630 but I used it from another plane which is why the servo option needed to reset in the receiver. However, I have a few BNF receivers which I have tried resetting using the spectrum cable. I do this by uploading the original firmware to the reciever. After doing this I do see a few more options under forward programming but there are still many options missing compared to non BNF receiver. Is there something I am missing here? Thanks

@@mr_mysterious_6174 You have to factory reset a BnF receiver after updating it to the latest firmware. That will unlock it so it functions like an open stock 637T.

RealFlight is good to learn the basics. You'd be better off getting a trainer model and flying it with a buddy box to get everything down though.

What field is that? I'm from Orlando and the local field in my part of town was the RCACF. I've never been one for clubs so I don't really care much for joining them. If you're going to go solo, try RealFlight until you feel confident enough to fly a real model, then start using SAFE to help get you around.

Flying on water is fun BUT it has it's drawbacks !! Your splashing up water onto the underside of these wings all the time, which will lead to eventual servo failure and crashing !!

Nah, that's not an issue at all. We've flown hundreds of times off water and have never had a servo fail from being splashed. That only causes an issue with immersion.
