Ive owned both gens from new. I had to check hiw many Kms Ive done when you said you are on 19k....20,081 km. Its my daily. Ive jumped it, rock crawled, mud holes, you name it...absolutely bullet proof! Love the addtion of front dif lock as well as all the aux swithes and air compressor, but agree, Ford could have done a bit more...not major things, its the little things like the step for the tub, better seal for the tub and factory fitted optional biger wheel/tyer. Not too fussed about the sunroof. I get the rigidity for jumping, hence no sunroof. AC through the seats would be nice too. Another thing the wildtrack has is a place for a second battery in the engine bay. Other than that...a V8 option could be a Ranger Raptor R model

As someone from Miami, Florida I 100% agree that no ventilated / cooled seats is such a miss play from ford, the seats on the Platinum look soooo much nicer than whats on the Raptor. Would be allover the raptor if they didnt overlook the ventilated seats

Great vid mate. My raptor is 7 months old. About 3 months in I started hearing a rattle coming from the exhaust on cold starts. Lasting about 20secs until the idle drops. I flagged it with Ford and they told me it was a “characteristic of the car”. The rattle got worse to the point you could hear it driving around town. I took it back and they now agreed that it doesn’t sound normal. They just replaced the muffler today and it’s back sounding like the day I got it. No rattle what so ever. They also had me sit in another raptor that they had on the lot to show me that it also has a rattle when starting it cold. I’m kinda feeling like I’ll be back in a few months with the same issue. Curious to know if anyone else has had this same problem with an exhaust rattle?
@maddog_277 ай бұрын

@RadStickers7 ай бұрын
Hi mate. So all was great for a couple of months.. But now the rattle is back the same as before unfortunately. It started off faint but it’s now obvious again for the first 20secs or so on a cold start just like before. I’ll be taking it back to them again as soon as I get time. I don’t know a great deal about mufflers but apparently these have some kind of valve inside (possibly on a hinge) that opens and shuts and that is what’s failing and causing a rattle during a cold idle?! Pretty disappointing really. Not to mention Apple Car Play only working 50% of the time. I’m told all ford customers are experiencing this? I’ve also got some rust on a canopy fitting that I’ll be showing them.. I do love my raptor believe it or not im just a bit bummed about these issues. Hopefully it can all get sorted

Good review mate. I currently own the first gen but have driven the gen 2. I personally didnt see enough difference to make me want to change. The new tech stuff is amazing, but I personally find it a little annoying and prefer the physical buttons on the gen 1. I also prefer the gen 1 seats as I'm a slimmer guy and the bigger bolsters hold me better. The gen 2 ride with the live valve is definitely firmer than the gen 1, but it makes it a more stable platform on road, so I see why they went that way. The biggest thing though is that gen 2 motor. The first gen shouldve had that motor and I'm feeling severely horsepower deficient since driving the new one.

Ranger raptor 23 from Argentina here (25K kms). In my view you missed the biggest shortcoming and that is the 80ltr tank. Way to small for Argentina at least, long distances between (reliable) fuel stations, and if in the mountains (sometimes over 4000 mtr high passes) Often you don't reach the next fuel station. If you don't wont to use the jerrycans (5 x 20 ltrs), then often you should not drive faster than 60 kms /h from petrol station to the next one (A Duster does that better!). The other thing that never worked in my raptor is the wifi connection. (after an software upgrade it works now at random. Ford Argentina has no solution. Apart form the tank capacity, I agree on the AC seats, this is a must along with a decent action radius.

The day after warranty finished with still issues Ford dropped me like a hot cake. Thinking about it in the years following I have spent over $500,000 towards other brands. Sat in one the other day, agree the seats are a major issue. Look nice but feel cheap and just not enjoyable to sit in, I was stuck to them after 30 seconds being fake leather. Look at what VW have come out with in their new dual cab. The red fake leather splashes on the seats really cheapens it also.

my father bought one here in Georgia (the caucasus). itis a LHD version but with full 400HP. only thing that I can't wrap my mind around is that it doesn't have heated seats or steeering wheel. not sure it was at all possible with ranger raptor. I think the only exlpanation is it was built for arab countries and yeah, there they don't really need any heating...

5 point harness are for roll cage builds. Your neck would snap in half if you had a roll over with no roll cage and 5 point harnesses.
@TyFenwick11 ай бұрын
Even lap 3 point harness, anything’s better then being ejected from the vehicle. But that might be an option for raptor ? Bolt in cage for behind the seats from Ford performance ?

Any low speed clunky downshifts in sport mode? Mine does it randomly, and it feel like dropping the clutch instantly in a manual

@peterbrown3099 ай бұрын
@@r3nlot just before it failed it started clunking 4th gear changes mostly. I have the Herrod upgrade recently and they remapped the gear changes - after the first few hours (had to relearn as its adaptive) its been much better.

The Ford Ranger Raptor & Chevrolet Colorado ZR2 are the best mid size trucks on the market … nothing is even close to them. Toyota Tacoma is a distant 3rd & then Nissan Frontier. Toyota does benefit from a large following & the cookie cutter no frills approach makes sense. If basic A to B transport is your thing, then a boring Toyota is your ticket.
@nickjessup402611 ай бұрын
Most of the points made are fixed in the f150 raptor and feel like ford can’t provided much more on ranger platform as when they do start brining the f150 raptor in makes them more appealing
