The original 'space food'; paste in squeeze tubes were used on the early space flights. It's fine for a few hours, but for long-term use, more normal rations were developed, both for morale and actual digestive function. There are a number of videos on KZbin.

Caffeinated chocolate pudding was the best to be honest. Everytime the pilot came down and didnt want it, I'd grab and it got me so wired it made me more efficient at doing my job.

So is the helmet still sealed whilst eating/drinking? What happens if there's depressurisation during?

@Connor Levers Yeh I guess something like would work. Such a small hole in suit probably wouldn't cause catastrophic pressure loss in the suit for a short period I suppose

There is an equalizing valve in the helmet that seals after the tube is taken out

Not yet.It's supposed to keep flying for several more years but with USAF budget constraints and cheaper unmanned spy planes,who knows.I Like the U2 so Let's appreciate it now before it's retired like the SR71 Blackbird!

To be honest that food is use on U2 pilot needs upgrade on space x or other space station Especially for other British special forces needs that in the middle of a combat
