Many are not matured enough understand the love story in this film..They think a matured man having an affair with an young lady.. but its not... In english its called Platonic love..meaning ..there is no sexual feelings involved..its just a matured man trying find console with an younger lady due to difficult circumstances he grew up....he cannot divorce due to societal norms of the 80s village life.. neither he has the age to marry again..he is struggling but finding some comfort in Radha.. due to his past trauma in his vulnerable married life. This story qualifies for world cinema in today's standards.

Its not..its a Platonic love story..there is no sexual things involved..its just a matured man trying find console with an younger lady due to difficult circumstances..he cannot divorce neither he has the age to marry again..he is struggling but finding some comfort in Radha.. due to his past trauma in his vulnerable married life.

This is Platonic Love.. meaning non sexual.. there is no touching scene between Radha or Shivaji throughout the Film.. also Shivaji character is shown as an aging single who did not had any pleasure in married life also.. meaning he did not even touch Vadiviku arasi...that is why this film is seen different.
