When these guys open up on the enemy, especially if it goes as they plan, the enemy is straight up FUCKED. When they say Green Berets are experts at unconventional warfare, that's no bull shit. A guy who lived around the corner from me has been a Green Beret for around 20 years. The amount of respect towards him can't have an amount or number placed on it. What Green Berets do will never be known by the public.

Special operations forces shouldn't defined by how badass they are. Nor should it matter how tough your training is. They should be defined by how well they accomplish their mission. Army special forces do just fine at their mission. They're also badass, as any operator will tell you.

Michael Brown Dude no way! My uncle was also part of the 3rd Special Forces group he wasn’t a Green Beret but he was part of the 75th Ranger Battalion he transferred to 1st SFOD in late October of 1990 and participated in the Mogadishu operation. Fast forward he retired in 2012 from the U.S. Army

Berets are a common military head ware. Different countries militaries have differen meanings. The United States Army uses Berets for formal head ware, the Marine Corps, Navy, and Air Force do not. From what I can remember, the colors in the US Army mean the following. Black=Infantry, it's more a generic beret for all vocations that are not the following ones. Red= Pilots(?) Though I think the 82nd airborne also wear it Tan= The 75th Ranger Batallion. AKA the Buckskin as it symbolizes the buck skin caps of the original Rogers Rangers Green= Special Forces.
