When Fergie came to the front to do her bit, there was a drastic increase in the energy level; and that takes a whole new meaning when Bono and Mick Jagger are on the stage. This was mighty by Fergie. Love it! Due credit to Mick and Bono for the perfect build up and for sharing the stage with Fergie and giving her the space to own it. Bravo.

Well, he’s definitely cool enough to know better than to sing “Gimme Shelter” like it’s a Sondheim standard. Bono? Not so much. Because when Edge and Bono hit the dual guitars, this had a TON of promise. Fergie did a WONDERFUL job trying to get the thing back on track, but the horse had already left the barn.

I've been a Stones fan since the early 1960s. They got back into gear in 68 and 69 after a messy 1967, and this remains one of their greatest songs. I also think this is the best ever 'live' version.

This is from the RRHF 25th. Anniversary. Fantastic performances throughout. And this was one of the highlights. Everyone of the performers From Simon and Garfunkel to Bruce Springsteen, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Patti Smith, The E street band, Sam Moore, Bonnie Raitt, they all brought something truly special that night 🌃
