Let's say you gross 110k subtract 20k .. that's still 90k better yet if you're worried about expenses just rent. I have found that I'm actually making the same if not more with upfront fare without the additional mileage to my car, and in a lot less trips. But here in Albuquerque I find that when I am on a trip and I get another request, the pickup time is from the drop off point, not from where I'm currently at. Also, the only time I don't see the drop off point is for The reservation rides. However, I find that I do decline a lot of rides because I don't recognize the streets, so going forward I am going to start turning off ride requests once I pick up a passenger so that I can see it on the map. I started driving for both Lyft and Uber at the end of 2018 and I've been solely driving for Uber since the pandemic started. Lyft wasn't offering me any bonuses or ride streaks or anything, and that was why I went with Uber because I do consistently get two bonuses a week. Not to mention Lyft does not surge in my city, but Uber does. (Though not often) With my recent experience with Uber, my trust in the company has completely been shaken and I will be switching solely to Lyft once we have the upfront fare. On Uber's website it clearly states that if there is a surprise or significant change to the ride that you accepted, such as getting stuck in traffic, that our ride would be adjusted accordingly. I have a screenshot of this just in case they try to sneakily take it down. Last week I was quoted $22 for a trip that would take 30 minutes in total. During the trip there was an accident in the middle of the freeway and that 30 minute trip turned into over an hour. Uber did not adjust the fare. When I contacted their "support" they claimed that was what I was quoted and would not adjust the fare. Just yesterday I was quoted $26 for a 30 minute drive to the balloon fiesta Park. During the trip the passenger adjusted the drop off location to the other side of the park as he was actually a balloonist and not a tourist. So it was essentially identical in mileage and time, yet Uber dropped the ride to $17. When I contacted "support", they would not adjust a fare claiming that was what I was quoted. After sometime on the phone with them they found that the original quote was the $26, however would not adjust the fare because the passenger updated the drop-off location, which again was not a significant change. And now this morning I got a message from Uber stating that starting Thursday we would now see these adjustments from the original quote and that an adjustment would only be made if we drive a lot more or a lot less than what was quoted. I also screenshotted this message in case they tried to sweep it under the rug. I no longer have any trust in Uber and I am screenshotting all of the initial quotes I am given before I accept the ride. Not that I think that it's going to change the fact that they are not going to help, but so I can provide it to you all if needed to show how Uber is frauding its drivers. (The edits that I made were only to correct, misspelled or wrong words.)

That's because those of us that have been driving for years are making decent money, still. And all of the people that laughed at us like, "...you're just a damn Uber driver", are seeing us bringing home anywhere from $1,000 to $2,000/week - and it's taking them TWO weeks at their jobs to make it. Now they feel kinda stupid for laughing at us - so they're quitting their jobs and joining us. Laughing at us just made us drive with more determination to win. And there are weeks when I'll clear $2k in 40hrs. The same ones that laughed are like, "...so, when I start driving Uber, do I have to do this...this...that...and this?" LOL! Now our market is saturated with people who used to think driving was a joke. And now they're like, "...holy hell. I'm making $45/hr and I was crying about making $19 at my damn job." CASH is CASH, and if you're smart with cash, you're gonna do a lot of things with $45/hr when you couldn't do it with $19/hr.

There algorithms are complex. Uber doesn’t always send job to closest car. They income level drivers also. So even if your closer they will send the job to another driver 2 miles more because he/she hasn’t had a trip in 20 mins and you just finished one 2 mins ago. They also know that rider might be willing to wait longer. Uber tests drivers and riders. How long there willing to wait.

They do that so that way it ends a three-ride streak. I noticed the third ride of the street is always ridiculous then conveniently after I declined it they give me one a mile down the road. They should have given me that other one in the first place and then find somebody closer to the other one. I believe this is done on purpose because it always seems like the long crazy ride to pick up comes before the short one to lose out on a streak.
@1armyman4unow2 жыл бұрын
The algorithm sends the rides most of the time in my area Central Pennsylvania to the driver farthest away that way they can charge the rider more for the trip but the driver only makes peanuts more with long distance pickup time which pays 15 cents a minute after 11 minutes and long distance mileage pays 83 cents a mile after 6 miles. I have this happen to me daily I have a rider 1/2 mile away and 3 minutes to him but the algorithm constantly sends the ride request to drivers who are 6-7 miles and usually 14-15 minutes away instead of sending me the request first. I have a rating of 4.99 with a 90% acceptance rate. I have been at Diamond status for the last 2 1/2 years with over 7200 rides on Uber

Lyft pay sucks compared to Uber in my location. It took me 2 hrs to earn 20$ with Lyft . It took me 2 hrs to earn 95$ with uber

Not sure what is wrong with your lyft screen shot.. the lyft app is the same as uber. It give all information. Pickup and drop off time and distance.?? Why do you not have a screen shot of the actual real screen???
@cc-tb3st2 жыл бұрын
Turns out lyft's a scam. Just got upfront pricing in Austin. 2nd ride was offered at 9.17 miles for $12.40. Route was not changes and actual distance was 12.2 miles. Pay did not change from the upfront price for the increase of 3 miles. So is 3 miles a big deal? No. But 3 Mike's is 33% of the original 9.17 miles offered. If they under quote miles by 33% then you can be quoted 1000 miles worth of rides but actually end up driving 1333 miles. So is not getting paid for 333 miles a big deal. It is when you drive 10,000 miles a month like I do. I have put 76,000 miles on my car in 6 months. This is a deal breaker for me. Support wouldn't address issue even with screen shots. Kept disconnecting me. Eventually just stopped trying to answer and just kept saying looking into it. 2 hours wasted. Not for 3 miles but for 33%.

Not in California! They took away dest mode and if you drop below 5 accepted rides they take away up front details! Some changes are suppose to happen this Thursday but I am seeing everyone else in the country is able to decline requests as much as they want. However in ca there are always strings attached! So tired of these games Uber plays. 😡 EDIT: well will wonders ever cease!!! I turned on the app today and they took away the counter for the acceptance rate and the gave me back my destination filter!!! Maybe someone heard me after all lol! EDIT AGAIN: Yep it was a glitch they took dest away again! But I can still not accept trips I don’t want and not be penalized for it. (We will see how long it lasts but right now I love it!) now just give me my dest back and we good! Lol! Wishful thinking….smh

So your acceptance rate goes down because you don't accept rides and the upfront info is omitted. Then you have to accept every ride so that your appearance ratio is increased. So after you can see where you don't want to go again and cancel rides then it's taken away again. Uber and Lyft seem to really care about this cat and mouse game that they've implemented.
@kfneely12 жыл бұрын
@@hectorrodrig I think we are being penalized because of the ab5 law that was passed that they had to spend a ton of money to fight. It seems that every time they do something new they always attach strings when it comes to Ca. I’m just so over the games that they play. If the dummies realized that the ONLY thing they had to do was take care of the people they would be seeing record profits. This is what happens when you get a bunch of tech people with egos to try and run a company that needs people and productivity to survive.

@@hectorrodrig For those driving XL in CA as you say then you have to accept every ride so that your appearance ratio is increased for pick ups for like 5-10miles away ?? nah I'm good !!

No they didnt hear you, you just missed memo. Rollout was pushed live Thurs, probably just glitching 🤣 Now the real question is if they will punish you for ignoring all the new requests coming in? They still got Acceptance and Cancellations rating in the app 😆

It's total BS I hate upfront pricing. U er pushes it says we have no choice but to use it. They say make more informed decisions so you don't waste time on rides you do not want great... But what they don't say is btw you don't accept the ride we told you not to accept your acceptance rate goes down wtf .. I'm a 5 star Diamond driver in Las Vegas that won't last long we have had upfront pricing for less than a week and I'm already at an 80% acceptance rate for doing what they told us. Independent contractor my a ss 5star blue driver here I come 🤦♂️

Well finally someone else figured out. the obvious. Knowing that then why dont you tell all your Diamond buddies to work smarter not harder? Those rewards are for the sheep. Wolves always win.

Drivers Uber /Lyft. The new upfront fare pricing is expected bidding as eBay. Collecting 100 dollars from riders and let our babies new drivers bidding starts from 20 . New babies drivers will accept for trip promotion Quest. Let Uber/ lyft scam more for wait time for rides than will throw extra dollars for drivers to accept those .b.s . The stystem scam more from riders less for drivers

"Treating us like true independent contractors", Really dude? Come on man. Independent contractors set their own prices. You hurt our cause as drivers in saying this, because Uber and Lyft will just use this as evidence in their argument in the current class action lawsuit against then. I'm so sick and tired of you guys kowtowing to Lyft and Uber. You are working for slave wages dude.

Uber‘s upfront trip information hands-down is way way better than Lyft Lyft only gives us a directional line but Uber gives us not only a directional area but also it tells us the pick up location address and a drop off location address but Lyft don’t give us all that information left won’t even allow us to zoom in on the drop off area during the request so it’s no different from what they was offering before all they’re doing now is giving us a line that’s it that’s all
