I love how you educate us with a visual set up thank you so much. I am interested in purchasing the Hub to control a side door next to my exit gate at a condo and I was thinking if is possible to use the Poe out put ports for two cameras and a door reader… The three ports are Poe and 15w max each. so how would you handle the separate relay for the motion sensor?
@mitchellmnr4 жыл бұрын
Rather use the glass break / emergency exit device over the motion sensor. That should break the power going to the maglock. Then the push to exit / reader triggers the door to unlock and only in emergency cases, is the maglock disconnected completely. If you have a maglock with a relay inside, you can send that back to your door controller as the EMERG trigger (not sure if unifi has this) Under normal use, it would be ignored as the controller should know the door is opened, and then when it's closed (and not 'closed' but actually closed and locked) If the door is opened (by force, or break of the EMERG button) then it would trigger the emergency / alarm The motion sensor is easy to get around (check hackcon i think it was called)

Schedules for open access Is a missing feature. In other words. Putting it in a door that would be to be open from 7am - 8am on a daily basis. Or a facility that is rented out and it needs the doors unlocked from 7-10pm. Also the door bell function would be amazing too.

Dunno if you'll see this but I'd love to know the model of the motion sensor and what kind of metal box you have the hub in. We're looking to do something very similar.

Would it be possible to wire a garage door opener to Unifi Access and have it open when you put your NFC card to the reader?
@MrTechdude14 жыл бұрын
Yep, you’d just need to take the wires going from your garage door button inside your garage and hook them into the hub.

Where I'm from if ifs a fire egress door then it has to release under fire alarm. The PIR can fail but a fire interface can fail less and will be compliant. Walking past it might cause it to trigger accidently. Also powering locks via POE??? Needs more testing to see if reliable, I have seen some certain readers powered via POE and its not great. Switches, power and UPS can fail. I would put locks on a actual access control system so that at least I can get some sort alarming, battery backup. Also no bond sense input??? Its all good that it can show door position but what happens if its not locked? ie closed but lock not engaged. Hence my point to put it on a access control system. Appears to be a gimic at this stage and certainly wouldn't comply with any security standards.

@@CaptainKirkW Thanks for making these videos, I'm considering purchasing one of these systems and it's a bit aggravating the Ubiquiti hasn't put out much information on it. It would be awesome if they'd add support for UniFi Access to the UNVR, the 4-bay UniFi Protect NVR. I just got one and it apparently runs UniFi OS just like the UDM-PRO does, so I don't see why it wouldn't be able to run Access as well.

You might be the man to ask: i am look for a solution for a driveway entry gate. The current electric gate is on a powered rail/dolly system? Not really sure what the correct name is. The gate moves along a track? My question is this: would this work with a powered driveway gate? does the wiring work? also what would the IP rating be? The UA Hub would have to be in a IP67 type of enclosure along with a POE++ switch that then leads back to the house via a multimode fibre cable link. This is due to the distance. There is no line of sight so a wireless bridge or any other RF would not work that well. would that be ok for it? Can the NFC readers work outside? Any insight? They are looking to deploy a UDMP/Unifi wifi alone with Protect and If i could add this then it would make it so much easier!

does anyone know how many doors this system will support? (Max number of doors per Dream Machine Pro)

@@StuFrodsham - Hi Stuart, thanks for your reply, are you saying there is no limit on how many door hubs you can add to a Dream Machine pro? I get it that each Access Hub will support one door 9in and out readers). But how many Hubs can I add to a dream Machine Pro is my questions.. Thanks again for your reply
@StuFrodsham4 жыл бұрын
@@franciscootero1302 My understanding is your limit would be your IP allocation table - given that the DM Pro was not intended to run a large Office block and was inrended for home/small offices. I assume your not looking to deploy it into a multi floor hotel/office block - If you are you then you got the wrong server! - How mnay doors do you need to control?
