55 years now. I hope they make it to the 60th aniversary, because that would be a record that no other band can beat.

My dad ran backstage for a big venue in the US in the 60s & 70s he said Mick was the only one with a “good head on his shoulders” and was the only reason the band stayed together or even just to get together and play at all. The rest of them were so bombed he had to tell them what to do when to do and how to do it.

Obviously, without Jagger both abilities, driving such a crazy organisation and being on stage the most charismatic and foolish frontman, the Stones never had their longevity.

So where was the interview with Darryl Jones ???
@bustabass9025
@bustabass9025 5 жыл бұрын
Daryl is not nor was he ever considered one of the Rolling Stones, as Bill Wyman was. He is little more than a paid bass player with the band. That's been the case ever since Bill left, and he was hired nearly thirty years ago. Unlike Ron Wood who replaced Mick Taylor on rhythm guitar, and a relatively short time later was made a vested member, or one of the Stones, Daryl remains relegated to a role similar to that of a backup singer, keybordist, or a horn player, added only to augment the sound of the band. Not sure why that is. He is a loyal band mate to have stayed all those years and a tremendous bassist. Unfortunately, he is not recognized anymore than the other auxiliary musicians and singers who help make that full, soulful sound the Stones create in live performances.👑🎶🎸

Evans is a tosser too. Too brash for my taste. Celebrity interviewers are usually a mess anyway. "What's your favourite______?" and other inane, pointless questions.
